taking my C32 to the track for the first time tomorrow

I bought my C32 in November and have done the 181mm pulley and jerry tune. Then had to replace my IC because it was leaking, recently slapped on Hancook V12's. Car feels like a damn rocket, I came from a 300C with some mods that dyno'd out at 317 at the wheels and ran a 13.9. I know this will be much fast just by the feel.

Does anyone have any tips for me as far as running the car?

Put away a lot of money for repairs!

Just kidding, have fun and be safe.

Yeah 1/4 mile, I hoping for good times, we usually have a good DA up here, especially this time of year.

Get there early and give the car some time to cool down.. Lines get pretty long by the end of the night.. (Although maybe not this early in the season) Good luck

Ran

So I ran a 13.2 but conditions were no good. They didn't even spray the track cause it was too cold. At the end of my last run the check engine light came on and it went into limp mode. Got home and noticed a plastic cover on one of my intake hoses was almost off. This was on the left side and about 12" away from front of the car. I replaced it and started the car back up and light went off. Do you think that was the cause of the cel light?

It could have been over boost code. P0238. I get it sometimes at the track if its cold. If you don't clear it, it goes away by itself after a while.

+1 overboost very common with 181 and cold weather. Should go away after some running and several starts. 13.2 is on the low side with your mods. What was your speed? About 103-105??

the code that threw was P0108 so I believe it was getting too much air, so I think it was because of the loose peice on my intake hose. My trap was about 104 to 105.5 at best. when you say that time was on the low side do you mean I could do better or that was already a very low number. I would expect to be able to break into the 12's

When I say that the time is on the low side, I meant that in a negative sense. With your mods, you should be in the 12s for sure (assuming you can hook on those new Hankooks??) Rephrasing, if its on the high side, a 13.2 is almost what a stock C32 is doing. I'd expect a 12.8-12.9 for those mods. Maybe even a 12.7 with a good hook-up. You should be at 107-110.

A time slip would certainly help us??

time slip

here is the slip, I hope you can read it, what do you think about the code I threw?

I didn't think 2.075 was a horrible 60' time, but it felt slow

Not a horrible 60', considering traction is usually an issue there.. More practice and you might in the 12s..

I will get the car into 12's, The only thing I am running right now is the 181mm pulley and a tune. there are a whole bunch of small things I could do to gain me some time. The hancooks I ran with had about 20 miles on the LOL, and they did not spray the track because it was too cold, I am hoping those things made a difference but maybe I am just being optimistic.

Get a less than 2 60 foot time and you'll be in the 12s;; the 105.05 is a pretty good MPH for that run, so you're making some power up top. FWIW, and as an example, there are cars with your MPH in the 12s at 107 which is only 2 mph more than what you're running. A better 60 foot time will certainly help that........You're not that far away!!

Every guy in the 12s is less than 2.0 including myself. A 1.7-1.9 would be preferrable. If you're not racing anyone and going for time, you don't have to "nail it" as soon as the tree goes green. Clock doesnt tick until you hit the timing light. Ahmed (Blkbnzz) is the master of this and is a good study in a qtr mile run.

Hey man, good to see you at the track.. Are you sure your IC pump is working?? That might be the issue as to why your not in the 12s.. My best run when my pump wasnt working was a 13.2, now my best is 12.2, so it certainly would be worth checking out..
