hit the track today
My first try 1/4 mile was 13.8, then my second try was 13.49 which i find good. While i was there, i blew a supercharged mustang, a turbo charged e36 m3, a e46 m3, my friends turbo mx6, my friends twin turbo supra, and i also beat carrera. The only race i lost to was my cousins sl 55 amg. C32 all the way....
I love my C32 and hopefuly I can try my on the "SOLO" track too...maybe soon.

That's interesting...you beat an M3 (E46). Did it have the SMG transmission?? I just can't imaging how the C32 can beat the M3 (if everything else being equal...aka driver). Was the M3 a convertible or coupe?? If convertible, then maybe. But a M3 coupe should not lose to C32 (stock vs. stock).
who are you? please stop talking........now.

Also depends on tires/driver/boost, But it looks like he beat those cars. mid 13's is fast for a sedan..
On the other side I am glad to see you at the strip improving your skills and giving your car a workout!
Cheers!
That kid is an idiot! Why would you go to the drag strip if you couldn't drive a manual that well? I will guaruntee you that kid thrashed his clutch and car while he was at the strip!

top speed of around 177 and 333hp to the wheels..
That is the basis of the whole magazine time scenario anyway. The C32 numbers apparently are more repeatable, while the M3 must be a coupe, stick and also be "well driven" to win. As we see from the majority of the "kill stories" on the web, most C32s seem to take M3s with normal everyday drivers at the reins. Then we hear the gripe that the M3 wasn't "well driven". Remember some magazine racer dropped the clutch (in a car he didn't own) at 4000rpm to get that quick 0-60 time they printed. And they took the best of several passes.
So when an M3 lines up against a C32 sure it might win by a hair, the magazine numbers say it can, but the real world says it more likely will lose, check around. It becomes a simple matter of odds.
I think a C32/M3 race is pretty stupid, especially for the M3. Magazines say he is "supposed" to win but how does he feel when he doesn't?
BTW track times vary by track, conditions too, not just driver.
1. Yes I have been in a C32 and driven one, and they are impressive.
2. "Destroy an M5" I'm sorry but I really doubt it! A well driven M5 will run 13 flat or high 12's in the 1/4 mile. Side by side on a freeway the M5 will take a C32 no problem, getting into triple digits is where the M5 succeeds!
Thanks.
Vader13- I haven't been in a PK C32 so I have no idea how they pull? I will take your word that they pull well and will match up against an M5, but just can't imagine a C32 beating an M5 on the street in higher speeds (where the M5 succeeds), maybe because I own one!?:p
Vader13 I think we can come and agree that they are both awesome cars and there are so many aspects (weather, tires, driver etc.) when putting the cars up against eachother that finding out who is faster would be very very hard!
Thanks.
BTW, the BMW M3 with SMGII can EASILY duplicate runs over and over again, as well as any automatic-equipped C32.
In fact, with Car & Driver review of SMG M3:
0-60 4.8 sec
0-100 11.6 sec
0-150 27.8 sec
1/4 mile 13.4 sec @ 107 mph
Top speed (governor limited) 155 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph 162 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad 0.89 g
And the good part is that the SMG can duplicate this result over and over again. All you need is a decent driver who knows how to use the SMG (which easy). And this can be done on any street USA.
Benzpower did a really nice job to get 13.6 sec in the 1/4 mile. That is pretty damn impressive!

Thai- An M3 SMG can acheive better times than what you posted by C&D. With a little bit of practice a driver could pull off 4.7 to 60 and the 1/4 in 13.3 flat or upper 13.2's, I think. You seem to think that getting 13.6 in a 1/4 mile in a C32 is a good time?!?
I just don't see how that is that great (no disrespect to the driver). So what would be an OK- Average run for a C32, 13.8-13.9, come on you gotta be kiddin me!!I am not gonna say an M3 is faster than a C32 in this thread anymore because it brings up a lot of arguments, which is understandable (we are in a C32 forum aren't we? :p )
E55Jay- No I haven't taken the M5 to the track or strip yet, but I will do that shortly I have only had it for a few months.
Thanks.

Uhhh, i wouldn't talk too much...Mercedes is NOT known to provide spectacular service either (it's not Lexus). In fact, quality & reliability on C-class has been far less than spectacular; many mags consider the BMW 3-series to be superior to C-class in quality and reliability.
BTW, the engine problem with M3 have been solved since early '02 (computer glitch).
You know the saying, "people in glass house shouldn't throw rocks." Or something like that.
