Added a C55 to my Garage

Added a 2006 C55 to my garage last Friday. Black/black, with every option including Navi. 27K on the odo, with brand new Hankook V12s. Completely stock, no paintwork or issues.

I'd been looking for one for about a year, had posted up here twice looking to buy, had pretty much given up due to the rarity of the model, but this car popped up locally on Autotrader last Monday. Needless to say, after doing a PPI I purchased it immediately.

Very happy with it; it is a quick, fun, well engineered package, and is serving as my DD.

Drove the 2011 E63 the other day. IMO the steering feel is better and it soudns better under full throttle. The interrior is stunning and it handle amazing given the size of the monster.
However, I found my modified C55 to stick on the road like a train and on the otherhand the E63 slides a lot in some corners. (given the mass it's understandable)

Enjoy! That could be my old car as the milage is about right. Does it have the birdseye black maple and is it hardwired for a V1? There should be a cord sticking into the back of the ashtray as that's where I placed the remote unit.

Congratulations, the C55 is a great car to drive and enjoy daily. Best mod by far is the KW v2 followed by the CLK 55 Black Series steering rack -- everything else just makes the car faster.

RE: New C55

Much appreciate all the replies. A few answers:

My car spent the first 4 years of it's life in Cleveland OH, the original owner put all of 11K miles on it (!), and traded it in a couple of months before the warranty was up. It went through auction, ended up at one of the big franchise dealers in Raleigh NC a month later, was re-sold to a local party a little over a year ago; they actually drove it, and just traded it on an Acura TSX....go figure. It hit Autotrader last week, I immediately went to see/drive it, and bought it after a day or so of haggling.

Traded my boring 07 G35 and a little cash, so it worked out to low-mid 20's. Worth every penny based on mileage, condition and options.

Interior trim is aluminum.

It's my DD, so I'm going to keep it stock......for now.....maybe do just a Jerry tune. This car (stock) is no slouch, but performance of my E63 and especially the V12 SL are in a different league. Given their respective price points, it really should be.

Very happy with the C55. It's 100% AMG Benz and puts a smile on my face every day I drive it.

the owner of the c55 that i bought my steering wheel off of had the clk63 rack and kw coil overs (SPR is his name on here) and before he owned his c55, he had a porsche 911. he compared the handling of his porsche to his c55.
