FS: 2002 C32 AMG, 49,XXX MILES. $17,300 OBO.
I am selling my 2002 Mercedes C32 AMG in Brilliant Silver original paint with only 49,xxx miles on it!
This car is completely stock except for the matte black grille that I have installed on it; the original chrome grille is included in the sale. This car is unmolested, just had service A completed on 10/10/2011 and on board comp shows "service B due in 10,000 miles". Installed new battery, new brakes and new rotors recently so the new owner is good to go! Always garage kept, all fluids, belts and filters changed and maintenance is up to date. This car is very powerful, shifts and drives perfectly and is in great condition, it is a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED mercedes. I have taken extremely good care of this car, drive it home worry free! Turn key condition.
Details (which I am sure most of you are already aware of):
349 HP
332 ft/lbs torque
Fully loaded
AMG black leather interior (still smells new)
Navigation
6-disc CD changer, AUX
Sun roof
Heated seats
....basically LOADED
Personal note:
Even though I'm a newb and a recent member, I've followed this forum for the past 5 years before signing up and posting for the first time. I can tell you how good the condition of this car is, but I would prefer for you to come see it in person. The car speaks for itself.
High Definition photos available on request for out of state inquiries. For out of state buyers, I am ready to complete a pre-sale inspection at a service center of your choice.
I'm located in Arlington, VA. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking, I have taken that reaction into consideration that's why i said OBO however, the car is in great condition and -although it may seem a little optimistic- worth the price tag. I am open to all reasonable offers, thanks.
Thanks for your response. As someone who is in no hurry to sell, I decided to post it at that price and feel it out, however I know that realistically i wont get that money but im willing to negotiate down. Indeed "no shot" on getting that price. So I will adjust my list price. Thanks for your input.
@c32AMG-DTM

Thanks for your input however I dont know what sort of mileage your car is pushing, but mine has low miles, CPO, NAV and in mint condition. I agree with jturkel that i have no shot at getting my posted price but there is also NO SHOT in me listing my car at 12k or below as u suggested, that would be a joke. In fact many people would be instantly and pleasantly surprised if i had posted my car with its current condition for 12K. It would have been gone ages ago. Thanks for looking guys.

Your car has low mileage, just did a quick search on autotrader for a C32 with under 60k miles. 2 came up one with 56k on it for 18k, and 1 with 56k for 15k. <--One of those crap dealers, would never buy from one. So you are ball park in your pricing.
If you were local I would check it out for sure. Unless you want to sell it for 12k, I will fly out next weekend and pick it up.

I would also recommend advertising with MBCA.
Thanks for your support. If c55's with the same mileage or less were selling at that price I think all of us and our mothers would be driving c55's.
Im gonna stick to my new lowered price and see what happens in the shortrun. Thanks again bud.
@Viper98912
No doubt, I know everyone here is trying to help and offer friendly advice which is why i posted here. So please keep the input coming guys
@saer1one
Thanks for the advice, will definitely also consider selling it else where.
Guys, if 12K is all I can get for this beauty then ill pull out my engine and use it as a kick-*** coffee table like the set on Top Gear.
Thanks for directing my attention to MBCA, ill def be posting it on there soon too.

@ FrankW
Thanks for the support, the next step will be cars.com and autotrader along with MBCA.

FWIW, my '04 is loaded, COMAND, bixenons (which yours doesn't have), full unlimited mileage CSC service contract 'til 2013, roughly $6k worth of Kleemann upgrades, and Renntech monolites/H&R springs. It's not for sale, but I'd be surprised to get more than about $15k for what was once a $56k car in '04. It is what it is... AMGs depreciate like crazy. Given that it's 8 years old, I'd also say it has low mileage (73k - around 9k per year avg.). Yours I'd say is "very low" (just under 5k per year avg.), which is a plus, but it's also an '02, which is a minus for C32s. Add on top that it's a ****ty economy, unemployment is persistently high, winter is coming, and these cars aren't known for reliability (and are known for pricey maintenance/repairs - warranty mitigates that somewhat, but doesn't relieve those concerns entirely), and you have a difficult market for sellers.
As a fellow C32 owner, I wish it were different, but these cars simply do not hold their value well, at all. I'm not a buyer, so there's no reason for me to BS you... if anything, my bias would be toward an unrealistically high valuation.

or this...

That C32 is worth well more than 10K. Again what are you basing your prices on?

Even edmunds.com, which notoriously undervalues everything(32k pp for a 996 911 turbo?
) says the car is worth 12k Trade-in.

With your knowledge on cars, it should not come as a surprise to you that by modifying a C32 to the extent that you have with yours, limits the number of prospective buyers. Consequently, with less buyers you would struggle to find someone to hand over $15K. Just a thought. That is unless you go through the hassle, time and labor of bringing your car back to stock then selling it. At that point you could try to recoup some cash by selling your mods/parts but now ur spending a lot more of your valuable time trying to sell multiple items. Im not against modding at all, im just staying on topic regarding resale value.
Thank you for your input, and the news flash on the current state of affairs of the economy, employment, and the weather. I didn't realize winter was coming. I will keep those things in mind when negotiating with potential buyers.

If we lived in Viper98912's dream world would you be interested in opening up an exotic cars dealership together? ... i guess a little
but i think we're both saying the same thing. Thanks for the input, cheers man @AMG3.2
Thanks for posting, I agree with you that these cars are a steal of deal for the power.
I hope you're enjoying ur C32
