I bought the C32

Thanks for the advice everyone, I ended up buying a C32. It had a report done on it and everything was perfect including the engine compression.

Here are some crappy photo's.

What does the W S button in front of the gear select do?

Why is there accel and decel on the cruise control stick? they both appear to set your speed?

Otherwise there are millions of buttons I need to press to see what they do. The supercharger whine is certainly addictive. In the next few months I might replace the intercooler radiator and pump and possibly get the needswings coolant separator. Is there anything else to look at doing to a 90,000 mile car? Oil change is not due and I have no idea about the other fluids.

Where is the best place to purchase a full in depth repair and maintenance manual? PDF is preferable.

Its going to be a very interesting relationship with your C32, you will love it when it behaves but hate to get ride of it when it all goes nuts.
Just for ref. I have a spare Throttle Body.

Congratulation on the C32. I know you already in love wit it. But it will be the whole new C32 when you start modding it. Right choice for $$$ and power

Nice choice, I wish you many safe and comfortable(sporty) miles Already have planned some mods on it? You can get some serious power out of these cars

What sort of petrol do you guys use? The best we have is 98RON which I think is equivalent to your 93?

I really don't want to touch the crank pulley, I don't like the idea of the accessories etc spinning faster than they are supposed to. I will wait and see how the eurocharged supercharger pulley works out + tune, IC pump and IC radiator.

S it is! Its not hard to get the nice light to display on the dash informing you the ecu is trying desperately to keep the wheels from spinning.

Can anyone comment on the accel/decel on the cruise control thing?

Hey tw2,

Yes only fill up with 98RON especially once you start modding, same Petrol here in Aus (Vpower)

I have a C3 SC Pulley and it has been fault free, I'd be going the EC SC Pulley once they are out you seem to know what to get first and when.

Acc/Decel on the cruise control should adjust the speed in 1km increments by tapping it up/down. I use it on freeways it is near perfect but you can tell the car still wasn't made in the last few years, technology has come a long way.

Congrats and welcome to the fold! I was personally torn between the C32 and C55 but the longing for V8 rumble won out over the rediculous ease at modding the C32. The worst day ever could never erase the smile on my face when I get home and see my AMG baby! Enjoy!

I have never owned a V8 so I am not sure what I am missing. As for cruise control, my celica uses a motor to adjust the accelerator pedal so this stuff is cutting edge as far as I am concerned.

I am a bit confused how eurocharged got 407hp from the SC pulley at 18psi and also got 407hp from the 185 crank pulley at 22psi. One of those numbers is incorrect. I suspect it is the 18psi figure as the torque is lower on that one. Anyway I look forward to seeing the results in a few weeks.

I think the pulley saver would be a good addition as the crank will spin at stock speed, the accessories will spin at stock speed but the idlers will spin slower and the smaller SC pulley will obviously spin faster. Increased power, increased belt/idler reliability?

I've had 20PSI readings from my C3 SC Pulley, I think someone here has read up to 21 or 22 PSI from their SC pulley post-tune.

PSK are very recommended on this board and almost mandatory if you have modded the crank pulley.

Will do.... eventually. Right now I am just trying to learn how to use the car. Its my first euro after countless japanese cars. Nothing is obvious but the owners manual is reasonably helpful. I still cant work out how to use the foglights only but everything else is good.

Took me a while to figure out how to return to "Drive" after selecting a gear manually.

Luckily I do not have the Bose system but finding info on installing an aftermarket head unit is hard. Everyone seems to be installing really expensive GPS systems. I do not have the stock GPS and I do not particularly want one either. I don't really want to lose the volume controls however. Nothing is easy but everything is still awsome.... except watching my journey start out at 18L/100km.

You can upgrade to Euro Mercedes nav unit that will give you more options for media such as DVDs, TV and aux input, or if you want to use aftermarket, there are devices that will help you keep the steering wheel functions.

Thanks, after hours of research I think I am starting to understand it all. I would like to keep my head unit that reads SD cards and USB. I need SWI-CAN to link the steering wheel signal to a univeral signal, then SWI-JACK or one of the others (since it is a pioneer) to convert the universal signal to the one of my head unit. With no Bose I should be able to wire all the speakers with the adapter harness available. I am not sure regarding the stock sub but at the worst I would have to run RCA's and get a new amplifier for it.

Welcome to the club, looks like we have the same color. If you need some help with your audio, I've done aftermarket amps, headunit, and speakers. I ran rca's and used the factory wiring for the speakers. The car is fairly easy to work on, you just need a good set of torx screw driver set. Running the cables is fairly straight forward, all you need to do is follow the path that has already been set.

I have a 2002 C32 and I have no bose emblems anywhere in the car, but I do have the bose system. All you have to do is locate the bose amp in the trunk, should be behind the carpet panels on the opposite side of the fuse box. Mine is on the passenger side, but since you're car is right hand drive it could be on the opposite side. Let me know if you need any help.

Where did you get the 407HP figures?

Thanks for the help. I tried to have a look tonight but I might have to wait until light tomorrow. If there is a factory amp I will probably just get the PAC adapter to run that. If there isn't one I might install an aftermarket amp. I have a spare fusion 2 channel amp which should run it fine being DVC.

Here's a pic of where the amp was, now it's just a pile of wires. Wish I had a better pic, but this is all I could find.

Wow there are a lot of clips to get the liner out of the way. I did not find an amp. I presume these are the only places it would be? Looks like I will be running an aftermarket one. Sorry annoying question- where is the best path for running the wires approximately? Most cars I have simply run RCA's under the carpet to one side of the foot well and the power down which ever side of the car the battery happens to be on. If there is a route already setup from factory this would make it much cleaner and easier.

Right side of car

Left side of car

Sorry to make you go through all that work, but I was sure that your car had the amp.

As for the wires, the battery is on my passenger side and there is a grommet that can be removed from the firewall to run a wire directly into the area where the battery is. I ran the rca's through the driver side, under the dash and I followed the wires all the way to the trunk. All you need to do is remove the plastic panels on the bottom of the door way. They just pull right off. The power wire is ran exactly like the rca's just on the opposite side. I wish I had pics to show you.
