C55 Tranny Fluid Part Number

Folks,

I am prepping to do a tranny flush as I am approaching 40k miles on my 06 C55 with the 5 speed auto (722.6). I am following this write-up:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210...ion-fluid.html

He mentions to use MB ATF part number: 001989450310. However, when I search for this online, I get:
Part number 001989450310 was superceded by part number 001989680310.

Can anyone confirm the right part number for the latest OEM MB Tranny fluid? I don't want any comparable part, only OEM.

Thanks in advance,

In case anyone is interested - I called two MB dealers this morning and confirmed that the latest Transmission Fluid part number is 001989680313 or 001989680310 depending on which one they stock. Supposedly, the ending digits of 13 and 10 are interchangeable. I ordered the 13.

Take in mind the new fluid is made for the 7-speed transmission and is backwards compatible, but it's thinner than the 5-speed fluid, which will make the trans feel like it shifts a bit different than what you were use to.

There was a link were you can get the trans fluid for a great deal. Check this out: http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ry...oductDetail.do

There's been a lot of chatter on the w203 page regarding ATF. Latest consensus was that the Shell ATF from Ryder as mentioned above is OK and the cheapest.

I used the Fuchs 4134 at 40k without any problems.

I usually subscribe to "good oil is good oil" philosophy when it comes to Engine oil, but with tranny, I couldn't muster up the courage, so went with OEM.

I am assuming you just did the pan drop and no Torque Converter drain. Curious how much oil you got out.

Not sure, I used a dipstick after it was warm to check the level. I ordered twelve liters, changed the ATF twice and have 3 liters left.

I think I got the dip stick off of eBay but I don't remember. In any event, I like to be sure that the level is correct.

Current: C217 V12TT AMG Previously: C55 AMG, SL65 AMG
I also used Fuch's Titan 4134 with no issues. The trans did shift slightly differently; perhaps just barely smoother, and the 2-1 downshift became less jerky.

In fact I have an extra quart and a half in case anyone wants it.
