What lug bolt shank size do I need?

I got a set of 19" TSW Bremmas but it didn't come with lug bolts.

I know I'll need a conical 12x1.5 thread pattern, but what's the right shank length?

I called up my local Discount Tire and they said that 20mm will work (it's the only size that they have). But I started to doubt that when I read this thread where a C32 owner with Bremmas said that he is using 27mm. Are the C32 and C55 shank length requirements the same?

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...nt-know-7.html

I know there are a couple of members here who have or had owned a set of Bremmas. Can somebody confirm once and for all the right length to use for a C55?

Unfortunately, I have no practical experience with those particulars wheels, so I can't share anything useful in that regard. But the C32 is basically the same as the C55 with regards to the brakes and hubs, so you could probably take what that other user said as good info.

But practically, if you want to be sure, you could get the wheels, remove your stock wheels, try the existing bolts and then see how much more 'penetration' you may need.

That's what I tried to do the other day, but there were so many customers lined up at Discount Tire that I didn't want to wait 3+ hours just to do a test fit.

So I just borrowed their 20mm bolt and there's around 1.5" thread that penetrates through the Bremmas I have in the trunk. Will this be enough?

I guess I'll just have to risk just going back in case their 20mm turn out to be insufficient.

In terms of safety, I should get at least a minimum of 6 full wrench turns when tightening the bolt right?

I recently had to replace a couple of wheel lugs on my C55 with replica 19" wheels on it, and I had to use shorter-than-stock lugs. I used Gorilla #17179, which are 12mm x 1.5 x 2.1" overall with 1.1" threads.

Thanks! So 1.1" threads, which that translates to 27.94mm.

You don't have any spacers right?

And how does it look from behind the hub? Does it fit flush (no protrusions)?

Amazon.com has it for $40.16, is this a good price or is there a cheaper place to get these?

The regular Gorilla 17179 is a little back ordered.

However, I found these that are immediately available. Will these work too?

Only difference is that the heads require a special key for installation and removal right?

I bought mine from this place: http://www.brandsport.com/

No spacers with my wheels, and they fit fine without any rubbing of the fender lip. The lugs also don't hit anything behind the hub (which the stock-length lugs did).
