Heavy steering
Is it normal for the c32 to have pretty heavy steering? I mean it must be at least 3 times heavier than my mums clk320 of the same year? Also posted in another thread I have a whine coming from my c32 which I am suspecting to either be supercharger, water or power steering pump so possibly this may hint to it being the power steering pump if the steering does sound overly heavy?

I have a SLK230 R170 before C32, the C32 steering is much much heavier than the R170.
I guess there is something wrong with my C32 at first, but now I think it is a normal issue.

It doesn't change the noise what so ever when i move the steering wheel. By PML do you mean variable assist, i thought this was an option c32's any way to check if i have it? Im surprised as ive had a lot of sports cars and none have had as heavy steering as the c32 its not ridiculous but it is heavy.

Well, I am not there to tell how hard it is but I love mine. Maybe hydraulic pump is dieing?
To check if have PML you will need a STAR, or get under the car and see if you have a solenoid on the the steering gear.

I know compared to my wifes car the C32 has fairly heavy steering but nothing that's extreme.
Have you popped the hood and checked for any leakage around the pump? One suggestion, if you are able to turn the steering wheel with the butt of one hand while the vehicle is stopped, it's probably fine. If not, then you'll know it's probably a pump issue. The issue is defining "heavy".

if thats a problem its a cool one. Its of course difficult to tell but what i can tell u is that since i now own both the c32 and c55 the 32 does feel 'softer'. But again its all very subjetive cause when i drive my ml55 for a week and get back in the 32 the steering feels very heavy...
