coolant loss
Ther are alot of threads on this subject but i just dont kno where to start.
I have to fill my coolant once a month and I know this is not normal.
I checked my coolant cap and heat exchanger for leaks no sign of any thing. can any body tell me my next step or any ideas on what it can be.

I think he means that you might have a leaking intercooler core (not heat exchanger). The sure-fire test is to remove your cast AMG manifolds, and check for a buildup of dried coolant residue. I believe boohooramblers had an excellent thread on this topic.
I was losing coolant recently as well, and suspected the IC core. Turned out to be a small tear on one of the upper coolant hoses instead. Good luck with your diagnosis.

I think he means that you might have a leaking intercooler core (not heat exchanger). The sure-fire test is to remove your cast AMG manifolds, and check for a buildup of dried coolant residue. I believe boohooramblers had an excellent thread on this topic.

Thanks for your help I took apart every thing today and found massive amounts of biuld up. its all full of dried coolant now waht do I :-(

I can sell you a used one for 400.00 + shipping, My first one was bad, So I ordered an aftermarket one, but they also included a OEM one for free, The aftermarket didn't fit, so I installed the OEM one, and used it for 6 months until I could fix the aftermarket one.
So this one is about 6-12 months used, works fine, no leaks

Well, to fix the root cause, you'll need to source a new intercooler.
Conventional wisdom suggests the OEM part is best - there are no successful aftermarket alternatives that I'm aware of. From memory, I think the IC runs $800-$1k or something like that.
Replace the IC, clean out the cast manifolds, and you should be good to go... assuming there's nothing else wrong.

BTW, when I initially ordered mine, they said it was backordered and might take 2 weeks or longer, but it ended up coming in a week.
I would have bought Dan's IC, but I didn't know he had it till after my new IC was already shipped.
