*FIXED* C32 Just Fitted DEPO XENON PROJECTORS...One Doesnt Work HELP! *FIXED*

AAARGH!

Just replaced my frosty xenons with nice shiney new Depo's

BUT....

Drivers side dip beam (hid bulb) doesnt work!

passengers side works perfectly.

ive refitted the old frosty one and it all works perfect.

so i swapped the xenon balast to the new depo and fitted a new d2s bulb to it aswell but it doesnt work on dip!!

ive tried every combination i can think off ie fitted new bulbs/old bulbs/old balast which work in every combination in my old headlamp perfectly.

so this rules out any other fault like a fuse etc.

ive had a good look at the connectors on the new depo and they look good.

HELP!

Is my new depo faulty?

The contacts on the Depo headlights socket might need work. I've seen 2 sets of depos including the ones I've had previously with the same problem. At first, the bulb didn't turn on. I wiggled the plug around and the bulb lit up. Depos are hit or miss, and they're usually miss. The quality isn't there. They look decent and fit ok, just the electrical is bad. I've also had both my depo headlight projectors bracket break so they wobble inside the headlight housing. They were decent, but far from perfect. For the price, you get what you pay for. I would see if anything can be done with the socket first. I'm pretty sure that's where the problem is. I wanted quality clear headlights, so I finally gave up on depo and went to the stock clear halogen non projector headlights. Factory bi-xenons are nice, but I can think of way better things to spend my money on.

hey thank you very much for the quick reply.

its half past midnight here in need to get it working to drive 20 miles home

which plug is the one you are talking about?

there are 3 plugs on my drivers side lamp (passengers side to non-UK cars)

is it the highest one?

try reversing the polarity on the plug, I just had the issue with my HID's. It looks like it only goes one way since the connector has a clip, but it works the other way.

So i removed the connectors from the headlamp housing/casing so i could plug the wiring from the new headlamp directly into the cars wiring loom without any housing/casing getting in the way.

i did this with the balast and the main connector and its still the same....no dip beam.

if i look directly into the projector lens i can see a few flashes of light (like lightening strikes) this last for a few seconds then stops.

so there must be something inside the depo causing this because as soon as i refit the old frosty lamp with the same bulb & balast it works perfeclty AARRGH!!

New depo working on the left but not right:

refitted old frosty....and works perfectly:

Is there anything else it could be?

any ideas before i order another headlamp?

i doubt its a programming issue as i have factory xenons and the passengers side works perfectly.

i would love to just buy the oem ones but my local dealer wants £1200!

car does look good though...i also fitted later spec grill.

That is extremely frustrating, I feel for you. Sorry I can't be of much help, but I'll give you some words of encouragement. The DEPOs look awesome on your car - keep at it you'll figure it out... even if that means buying a whole other assembly..

my car has factory xenon's...

totally different than aftermarket hid kits.

but.....i wonder if the depo headlamp has been wired wrong.

is there a way to check with a multimeter if the live feed to the bulb is correct?

i know these systems have mega voltage so didn't think a mutimeter could be used?

i don't want to just swap the wires around incase i blow something on the car.

I know it's a lot of f@#$%g work but swap the passenger side housing on to the drivers side just to see if would light up. if it does, then at least you are sure that it has to do with the socket of the driverside depos.

Hello, how much is your Depo headlamp set? I want to buy one for my C32. So the original xenon can work on this, too? Thanks...
