Genuine OEM Spark Plug part numbers
Spark Plugs
0031599703 (16) - $17.40 x 16 = $278.40
Wires (Ignition Cable)
1121500218 (4) - $21.60 x 4 = $86.40
1121500318 (2) - $29.40 x 2 = $58.80
1121500118 (9) - $36.60 x 9 = $329.40
1121500418 (1) - $31.80 x 1 = $31.80
Total = $784.80
I can see why there are different part numbers for different wire lengths, but what a weird combination... Can anyone confirm this? Also I know we're talking AMG here, but is a spark plug change supposed to be that expensive?
$180 for plugs alone? and $165 for plugs and wires? huh?

These are for the E55 so I am only guessing they are the same but I am sure they could find the right parts for way cheaper than MB.

Bosch part number 0356912948 is a Mercedes 1121500118
Bosch part number 0356912950 is a Mercedes 1121500218
Bosch part number 0356912952 is a Mercedes 1121500318
Bosch part number 0356912954 is a Mercedes 1121500418
Bosch sells the wires individually and as a set. The part number for the wire set is 09850. I did a plug and wire change two weeks ago. The wires cost me $170 at Rock Auto.
OE Bosch plugs (FR8DPP33 are what you'll get at your MB dealer parts counter) are about $4.50 each versus $7.50 per plug at my local MB dealer's parts counter.
Because I know I'll get 50 PMs asking for the part number for a C32 wire set, here it is -Bosch 09849 and it costs $120

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I had no need to replace any wires at all. I used anti-seize on the new plug threads and dieletric grease on the plug tips. Removed the two rear coil packs on both sides to make access a little easier, not at all hard to do.
I'm at 41K miles, the plugs came out looking fine, but my stealer was bugging me to replace them due to the age of the car. Based on their estimate ($750...huh?), I went ahead and did them myself.
Took 2.5 hours from start to finish, the car started up and ran perfectly when I was done. It does idle a little smoother but otherwise runs exactly the same.
If one is mechanically inclined, doing the plugs is not difficult.

My justification is that they are genuine bosch leads, they have the exact same part numbers, they are the exact size, length, identical in every way from the same factory as the others. The only difference is they don't have the mercedes symbol on them, I'm not paying an extra $400 for that.
As for the spark plugs, I would still buy these ones even if the stock standard oem factory ones from mercedes were the same price.
As for ebay, yes ebay is full of a lot of crap but it is just a collection of sellers, its not a manufacturer and a lot of these sellers have genuine products straight from the factory. There are also lead sets at half the price I paid for the bosch, that is where you should be more vigilant. I have been down this route for 2 of my AMG's now and never had a problem.
Here is a link for the bosch wires. That is the cheapest I have found them anywhere(they fit on the V8 benzes with bosch wire set part number of 09850). For people with C32's use bosch wire set part number 09849. I am putting them on my CLK500. I am still unsure on what kind of plugs to use. If you guys have any suggestions, let me know. Also, where can I find about 8 bosch coil packs for cheap.
