Wheel wobble at 20mph+
Ill keep this simple:
Front passenger side wheel is wobbling at almost all speeds. About 6 weeks ago the wheel had to be taken off to replace the fender liner. It was put back on by the dealership but i never re-tightened the lugs. I know... So i am in the middle of a long road trip (Daytona to Miami to Orlando) about 600 miles so far. About 80 miles outside of Orlando today the car developed a noticeable wobble coming from that wheel. I parked it at the hotel and got out to check the wheel, tightened the lugs (they were loose, could move them about 3/4 of a turn with the wrench in the car). The car still has the wobble but it seems a little better, but I am so pissed I can't really judge it. So the question is....
Does it sound like this is the cause of the problem or could it be something worse?
Should i take it to have the lugs tightened with a gun tomorrow?
C55 only has about 58,000 miles on it so I doubt it is anything wear related, but I am just worried something is now broken.
Thanks!

I'm sure something is damaged (holes, bolt, etc) since you drove the car with loosed lugs.
Take out the wheels and see if anything is damaged..Good luck

do you have aftermarket wheels or stock ones? happened to me on one of my rear wheels where the hub ring got damaged due to loose lug bolts. i removed the wheel re mounted them tightening the bolts in a star pattern and the wobble/vibration went away. GL

do what quickTT said and inspect the rim for damage as well as the side walls of the tire itself for any prominent bumps (happens when you hit a pot hole) if no noticable damage them re mount and test drive. How long did you drive with the wobble? I hope that the wheel just didn't seat into the hub well. GL

Not sure how long I drove with it wobbling, but longer than I would have liked. Can you explain "I hope that the wheel just didn't seat into the hub well."?
Im gonna take the wheel off in the morning... ugh

the center ring that is protruding must go into the rim evenly. I suspect that while you were driving, the wheel got misaligned and wedged itself crooked into the hub causing the vibration. when you stopped and just tightened the lug bolts w/o removing the wheel and realigning it, you may have (i hope not) wedged it in more. I hope that helps GL!

Took off the wheel. Did not notice any damage aside from the center hub being pretty rusty. Tightened the wheel in a star pattern and took it out for a spin. Seemed better, but did not get to take it much above 35 mph. Will take it out in a little bit for a longer drive and see if the problem has been solved. Thanks for your help everyone. Hopefully it is okay now...
