Urgent !!! Sl 55 to C55 Engine swap
Hey guys,
I own a 2005 standard C55 AMG. I m looking to increase its power so I bought an SL 55 S/C engine to swap it. After finishing all the swap(ECU+Engine), I ran through an issue with the differential because the wiring is somehow different than what I have and the traction control is not working anymore. is there any possible way that can be fixed ? i ve been told that the SL55 has an SBS system or so and will not work when fitted in my car...i m really desperate I payed so much for the engine and the swap itself but i hate to drive it or leave it like that...
Any suggestion is highly appreciated

why'd you do an entire engine swap rather than just take the s/c and accessories and airbox from the SL and just get it tuned...its the same engine

i m planning to go with a high boost but i dont want to open up the engine and change the pistons into forged ones...so i decided to swap the entire SL55 engine and start from there.

i find it hard to believe that buying an entire engine (what like $10-15k) and swapping it is less expensive than getting a used s/c for $800-1500 (i think one from an E55 is f/s right now for $1000)...

The only one in the U.S known to have done the sc swap from a e55 to a c55 said it cost him about 15k (mike aka hooleyboy). I asked him about all the instructions to make it happen on my old c55 and he stated he would much rather have done the motor swap. He said it would have cost 15k at least. Mike had about 30k in his c55 before the terrible accident.

ah I didn't realize they were different internals as well...i was always informed the the engines were the same...and if the internals are different then they are not at all the same regardless of what model number they slap on it! lol they're about as same in the way that they are both v8s and thats about it lol
