new guy! c32 amg! needs help

bought this wonderful c32 for 2300, old owner changed cps and car ran for 1 day and afterward would only run for short periods of time.

fuel pressure gauge read 58 when running and dropped down to 52 during no start period.

SCAN TIME

p0422 main catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1
p0335 crankshaft position sensor A circuit
p0460 fuel level sensor A circuit
p0432 main catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2

FUEL TIME

changed fuel filter (blew into old one and it was clogged, new filter was not)

fuel relay and fuse are good

car would run but could not go full throttle

CPS TIME

changed cps and ran perfect including full throttle

later at night started hesitating and bogged out on side of the road and threw a cel, after 20 min started back up and drove it home with 5 percent power bogging out

next morning runs fine for 45 min no full throttle attempts

later in afternoon boggs out stuck on side of the road, wait 20 min got it home

this morning started fine so i went half throttle it bogged and i got stuck on the side of the road for over 1 and a half hours

pushed shrader valve and air came out!! put 5 dollars of gas in it and it started and was bogging all the way home at 5 miles an hour

****!!!!!

took some pics of the car and posted this hoping to have a friendly amg lover throw his 2 cents in.

my current thought
is my cps was exactly the same kind as the one i pulled out and i bought it at orielys instead of oem? so maybee i need a mercedes oem cps because the one i have tends to heat up and work incorrectly

second thought
this car ran absolutely amazing after the cps change so it must be a small issue thats throwing things off. this car runs fine for 1 day after a cps change and acts up again. according to the old owner and now i seen it for my self.

Fuel pump could be the problem.

Or your cats are clogged or maybe just 02 sensors have never been changed. It's happened to me. I changed out O2 sensors and just removed my cats. I'm in minnesota though and there are no smog tests or requirements.

Another thought would be making sure the old owner used mbspec replacement parts on the cps. I know we like to think someone wouldn't do that to an amg but it takes all kinds. Plus if you find the cps isn't correct oem. I would really start looking around for other things that an owner may have gone on the cheap for.

My thought would be to recheck the fuel filter. They don't just clog unless the tank is contaminated. It might have clogged again.

2300 Bucks! I would love to find another C32 for that price!, I would say bye bye to the 3.2 and put in an LS1 in it.....Sorry to get OT but I recall having a similar problem back in the day, I ended up hooking up a cheap fuel pressure gauge and running under the back of my hood and just closing it enough for the safety latch to catch. after the fuel pump ran for a little bit it dropped below the minimum pressure and stalled. Changed the fuel pump and all was good again.

I'd get an OE cps sensor from Mercedes directly. They aren't that expensive, and I'd second the recheck the fuel pump and filters. They don't clog up often. Your tank could have gunk in it so it may be best to start there.

Good find on the C32 for that price. Just be patient and you'll get this car fixed soon.

thanks everyone

brau im really not leaning towards o2 sensors, feels like lack of fuel pressure by the bogging, not a consistent bad tune like a o2 sensor

zeppelin the gas that came out the old filter wasnt dirty, i was hoping that was the problem this new filter has 6 miles on it

c3232c your the motha ****a i need to be talkin too lol
do you have the links for the main and secondary pumps? i seen some on here for blah blah euros but i want to order from usa(ls1 is a bad idea id order pullies and a tune and call it a day, but you've been down that road)

speed7 im gonna order from cheapest first so cps is on the list, my mom owned a 02 c32 burgundy, and after the lease, a silver 06 c55 so ive been driving these cars from a young age, i really really know the value and i appreciate them to death! that being said i finally got my own amg in my name that i can do whatever the hell i want with. but when i had the c32 i was like **** c55's i would smoke them, then when i had the c55 i said **** c32s lol and none of them ever wanted to race, but the c55 is beautiful... i must say im glad i got the xenons and the baby spoiler. some wheel and suspension work and it'll be the way i like it. im not the most fond of the c63 especially the tail lights and the added weight, but im sure if i owned one it would grow on me like all of them did, 2014 might have a twin turbo 5.5 which is my dream configuration i just hope its in a simple clean package like the c55

I had a similar problem a while back and thought i was gonna have to change fuel pumps but my indie had me to order a voltage regulator and he changed it out and fixed the problem.

so i was off today and bought a new fuel pressure guage

40psi in on position, started right up sat at 58 and car ran fine

drove to the store to get a parking lamp and installed it

left it in 1st gear and forgot on accident and over revved it for a little while and battery / alternator flashed red

measured voltage bouncing between low 13s to 12s all over the place with the idle jumping all over the place

anyone have a clue on this one? i already reset the car by pulling the battery for a few minutes and its still doing it, the battery is a week old that alternator doesn't look very fun to change, not to mention the heart attack i would have if i slapped a new one in and it did the same thing
