What are the symptoms of a back steering rack? I have a "clunk" up front when I go over bumps. I was thinking it was a ball joint, but I read of back racks in the W203. Sorry, not looking to jack your thread.

Does it feel like you need to turn the steering wheel more to make your normal low speed turns, like their is play in the steering wheel to rack response?

2034603300,2034605200,2034601300 are all from C32s. They are not for your VIN# but they will work just fine. I don't see 2031101100.

You should run your vin through EPCnet and get the part number verified.

04 C32 AMG (sadly sold), 05 CLK55 Cab, 08 R350 4Matic, 15 GLA250 (sadly bought), 75 VW Westfalia
My steering has a little play in it but it's not the rack, it's the intermediate shaft; I can see it when I put the car on a rack and while looking at everything from the column down to the wheels I had a buddy turn the steering wheel through its play, and I could see the intermediate shaft sort of move out of axis before stiffening and then turning the rack. Had a dealer tell me it was the rack, its clearly not and I would've been seriously irate had I dropped the $3200 they told me the job would cost. Racks do not typically wear out despite all the talk otherwise; ball joints, u-joints, etc wear sooner and are the more likely cause for play.

At high speed is very noticeable, and when you enter a corner, the steering wheel trying to turn it back and pulls often

NP. I checked these part numbers against my EPC and they are all listed for C32. Have your dealer check them without the VIN. I'm traveling this week but should be back by Friday and can send you a screen print from my EPC.
