Driver's seat Easy Entry/Exit Feature Not Working

Randomly my easy entry/exit feature stopped working, my seat would not back up when key was removed, or move forward upon entry and key inserted, but steering wheel would either way.

Performing a seat computer reset worked for me and fixed my easy entry/exit issue. (2005 C55, been 3 weeks and working fine, so I wanted to share the process to reset it with everyone.)

Perform while outside vehicle with drivers door open:
1. Turn key to "ON" position 2 (right before start)
2. Press bottom seat cushion button forward, once seat reaches the full forward position, continue to hold for 10 seconds. Then release button. (I heard a reset click after 10 seconds, I assume meant it reset)
3. Hit seat memory button you have your settings set to and allow it to adjust to set position.
4. Get in car while seat is in your set driving position, close door, then turn key to off position and remove. (your seat and steering wheel should now adjust to the exit position setting)

Seat should now work with the easy entry/exit feature again.

For those that don't know about this feature their is a easy entry/exit convience setting you can turn on or off in the settings in the dash using the steering wheel menu control. See manual for how to turn on feature and set seat positions.

Easy Exit/Entry

Thanks for the post. I have a different car (2005 CL65 AMG) but have the same problem you had. Exactly. I followed your instructions, exactly, but it doesn't want to reset after even 10/20/30 seconds of holding the seat forward button, then going through the rest of the motions.

Well it worked on our Ram too. thanks so much. it was a real pain getting in and out without the seat moving. so maybe it is a Dodge thing? did it today, so hope it keeps working. but at least we know how to fix it now. Thanks

Unplug black plug under the seat...

IF NOTHING IS HAPPENING AT ALL, unplug the black plug under the seat with all the wires running to it and then plug it back in. It acts as a reset and your seat and steering wheel
will be working fine. t

One of those things I have turned off because I KNOW it will break eventually in an inconvenient manner. Steering tilt mechanism has a known weak spot, a plastic dog bone breaks and tilt stops working.

Silly question, but how do you save your seating position to a memory button?
Push and hold memory button you want to set it to for a few seconds??

Thanks

Yes, in the owners manual it gives the time. I hold it for 5 seconds. Then move the seat and check it goes back to where it was.

Thank you so much for this! I was worried the sensor in the seat had gone bad but this fixed my issue perfectly!

Thanks again

Ruben65, I had the exact same issue on my 2002 SL55 & followed the procedure you described; it worked!

Many thanks for sharing.

Thumbs up Thank you! It worked!

Amazing. I have a 2017 300C and the seat just stopped the easy entry and seat memory yesterday when I was cleaning the inside. I have tried at least a dozen different things and spent over 2 hours researching the issue. this was the LAST thing I was going to try before taking it to a dealer and wasting several hundred dollars I'm sure. Well, this WORKED. Thank you.

Unfortunately, although it did work on mine, it is not a permanent fix. I have to keep moving the seat slightly forward & then use memory position for it to work again, before it loses the convenience once again!

You should be able to find it in your convenience menu & disable the feature.
