How to identify tire rub

Hey all,
I have a slight rub on the rear passanger side only. Car is on cut H&Rs, 265/30/19, fenders pulled, rolled and a bunch of trimming(brackets are flush), camber correction at -1.75 each side, net offset of -25. Fitment is near perfect, I can barely get my pinky between tire/fender and it looks great. It only hear slight rubbing when I launch hard, not over bumps. Any tricks on identifying where the tire is rubbing? Yes, I did search but found nothing.
TIA, Mike.

Easiest tip way to find out. Weigh down your car a bunch and drive it around the block while it rubs. Put it up on jacks and take your wheels off and investigate where it rubbed as the tires will leave your wheel wells scuffed up.

Willtheyfit.com helps alot in visualizing where you rub.

Pretty sure if you've on cut H&R springs, you're rubbing the outter fender lip NOT by where the damper is.

Get a silver sharpie or white out pen and mark the area on the tire or fender liner(only if its not on a painted surface obviously in case it doesnt come off) and replicate the driving situation where you suspect the rubbing. If its on a painted surface use some 3m blue painter tape. After doing that jack the car up and inspect your marks and see if any show signs of rubbing. This is what I had to do to track down the rubbing on my corvette.

I'm on stock H&R's and i have no fender gap so im sure your cut ones are the reasoning being any rubbing you end up finding.

Got it. If you stand on the side of the car, it was about the 2:00 position. All set. Now its time to slip in the 5mm spacers, and retest.

ya I'm running 19X10 in the back and never had a problem with rubbing on my c230k but on my c55 they rub only really on the driver side rear when someone is riding in the back...in fact even if they are sitting on the passenger side it still rubs on the rear driver side. I was thinking for awhile that my spring on that side was failing as i did some measurements and found that side to naturally be sitting slightly lower than on the other side but i wasn't sure exactly and left it to a factor of error on my part and the way the car was sitting parked. I've looked for rub marks and have yet to find any

What size tires are you running on the 19x10? I've also noticed rubbing on only my driver side as well, maybe for some reason the wheel sits a few mm to one side on the driver side vs the passenger side.

ok, i was going to say fitting a 10'' back there on stock fenders must of taken some work. I have 9.5'' with a 265 and it barely fits. Wish these car could fit a larger wheel without having to flare the fenders.

ya I wish the fenders came flarred lol...

Its just weird cuz I ran them on my c230k with no problem, but on my c55 they rub just on that rear driverside. So bad I wont even let people ride in her at the moment due to how embarrasing it is

I was not rubbing when I hit bumps, only when I launched hard. I had to tweak where it was rubbing then it was good. I then rechecked the camber, and realized that I needed to dial out the pass side about .5 degrees. I was also at -30 net offset in the rear, and wanted -25 to match the front. I have added 5mm spacers, and I have a bit more rubbing. Time to get the roller back in there and pull just a bit more. Once I am done, I will have the offset I want, correct matching camber, no rubbing and fitment so tight you cannot fit a pinky. Wish me luck.

Drive your rear up at a driveway lip and you will find the rub spot. It is the joint between the fender and bumper at the front and rear, I had to basically grind it flat. It still rubs on really hard bottoms.

ya i forgot to mention that I am running 3mm spacers in the rear and i wasn't on the c230 due to the brake upgrade, but still i am not rubbing on the passenger side. So i guess I gotta find a place that will roll my fenders a bit

I have tried as other have suggested, but still a bit of rubbing. Last night I did more grinding, fender pulling, etc. I am trying to keep the camber about -1.25 and have almost no gap. It still seems to rub when I launch hard from a complete stop. I am going to pull the fender liners, and spray rubberized undercoating on the areas I cut, and ANY potential rubbing areas. I will then let it rub for a bit, and hopefully be able to recognize. Details to follow. I would rather be a 3 legged cat trying to bury a turd. Too much other stuff on the to do list.

Just remove the rear spring, lift the suspension with a jack and check where your tire rubbing.

you mean leave the tire on and just lower the car with the jack until it hits the tire?

Similar concepts, and I have considered doing just that. The issue I have is that is seems to be more torque related. I can hit bumps all I want, and no rubbing. Its just when I launch hard. I have some mods, and decent power.
