need meats for my monster

Hope everyone is having a happy new year! I'm about to make an investment in my C55 when I had been meaning to feed the pig in 2014.
Despite the expense, I've always bought a good tire for my cars.
I was looking at Hankook V12s since they are reasonably priced and I was happy with a similar set I had on my Miata. I'm surprised to see some people really happy and others having cornering flex in the sidewall and getting hard in a year. If anyone has experiences and maybe longevity updates, I would appreciate it. Maybe PSSs are worth my extra cash- Any recommendations or insight on best available rubber for such torque?

Thinking 225s up front and 255s in the rear on stock wheels and suspension. I had rubbing with rear passengers on 255 series Potenzas, so I don't think I can manage 265s..

I absolutely love the hankook ventus rs3 on my C32, a little noisier than traditional tires but well worth the trade-off for spectacular performance imo!

I've been using Toyo tires for the past 5 years and now switched to PSS and am very happy. One word of caution on PSS. The warranty is half of the listed period because of the staggered setup. Otherwise, great tire.

i have the v12s on my clk and they were great for about a year and now they have much less traction and the side trad is almost gone. I have Bridgstone poll positions s04s on my c32 and they are pretty nice. only had them a month though.

For street use?

Continental ExtremeContact DW

This tire are very good in rain, asymmetric tread (good for rotation right/left), better treadwear compared to the V12 and they are in special at Tire Rack!

Had my V12's for about a year and 20k miles, looks like they will run to about 25k, which is pretty good for a summer tire. Haven't noticed any of the issues you have mentioned though. They grip well and for the first 10k I was actually able to floor it from a halt and not spin (at least when it was summer and the roads were hot). For the price, it's a great deal.

Continental DW's are good as mentioned above, and also Michelin Pilot A/S for all season tires. Not quite as much traction as the summer tires but it's pretty close and these will last longer, but expect to spend more $ than the Hankook's.

20-25k would be great. I was happy to get another 12k on the Potenzas that came on the car (PO said they had under 10k on them when I bought the car)
My driving is mostly short city jaunts. I don't corner hard very often, but like to lay into the throttle from stops. Right now, I can break the tires loose at 25 mph so launches are pretty much a thing of the past...

265's will fit on the rear and they do look rather spectacular. That being said, just replaced them with 245 Conti DW's.

I ended up going with the Continental DWs in 225/255. Thanks so much for your input guys!

I love the DW's. I have them in a 265 and i dont have any rubbing...... probably has to do with the offset of the stock wheels vs aftermarket.

Also try Nitt Nt05's, which will be my next tire for the S, and Bridgestone Re-11's. I have those on My CTS-V.

Like what I see on the Toyo's, but have never tried them, or seen them at the track.
