Lightest 17" wheels?

Nearing middle age, I am not impressed the the flash of "big wheels," especially not at the cost of hp and damage-resistance (not to mention the initial $ cost). I would like to stick with 17-inchers, and am mainly concerned about weight and strength. I like the OZ "forgiatas," but it does not seem that they are available for a C32. Any suggestions? I would like to be in the 15 lb. range.

you will need a (expensive) forged rim from:

light 17" rim

Has anyone out there put 17" OZ superleggeras on their C32? If so, were any mods necessary with the stock tire size? If not, does anyone know if these wheels will fit the C32?

The tirerack.com website says the 18" OZ superleggeras will fit the C32.

You may want to consider Volk LE37 or Renntech Monolite if they come in 17's. Both are pretty light wheels.

the Superleggera III (3 piece) will be straight fit for the C32, but those are much more expensive than the one piece.

the SSR rims are light. They are all forged rims I think, so it's pretty strong. BUT only their GT3 can be straight fit for the C32 and comes in 18'-bigger.

I'd say the oem AMG rim's probably are the strongest and semi light one for 17' rims.

Those SSR Comps are very nice.

Where do you find the specs for the 15.5lb weight of those wheels?

Do you know the quality of those Ebay replica rims? There seems to be tons of replicas on Ebay that look good and are way cheap. I am wondering what's the built quality, and whether they will weigh a ton?? Anyone here bought a set?

I was wondering if anyone ever found out if the Volk TE 37's could fit clear the front calipers on a C32. They come in quite a few offsets, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what offsets will work on the C32.

thanks,
Jon
