03 c32 transmission issue

Need some advice from the mbworld family. I bought a c32 early summer. Car had a jerk in the transmission during 1-2 up shifts then again on down shift. Both are aggressive. When the shifter is put into drive it bangs really hard same for reverse. I figured it was the transmission. So I replaced the tranny. The tc and pump were rebuilt. OE oil, filter and gaskets were used. After all that. The car is still doing the exact same thing the old tranny was doing. I mean exactly. Transmission guy can't figure it out. He's suggesting getting another tranny. I know the replacement tranny works its mine not junkyard bought. Need help here.

Wow. A quick search would have saved you a ton of $$$$$. It is most likely the conductor plate and PWM solenoid. Also I would get a new "guy" because this is a known issue.

Original tranny was contaminated. Gylcol. Replaced the valeo radiator. I'll try the suggestion tomorrow.

I figured it was the transmission. So I replaced the tranny.
Did you do a glycol test? Usually when that happens you get slipping and other issues.

I get that but was it tested for contamination or was it just a hunch and replaced.

Tcu and harness bone dry. In winter mode shifts fine. Its only between 1-2 up and down. In winter mode still bangs when selector is moved to drive reverse and park. No tranny codes.

If Valve body solenoids are fine, and TCU file not been collapse,,

then it could be bad "tq. converter", but can't assure that..!!

Torque converter rebuild still under warranty. Torque converter adaptation ? I read somewhere that a adaption might be needed but no instructions.

The only thing i know of is the so called sneaky reset. While in the car with the door shut put the key in position 2. pres the accelerator to the floor and hold for 10 seconds. turn key off and release the pedal. then just sit and wait for 2 min without touching anything.

This is from memory so if I messed up somewhere please note it.

Tried it. Even had the tranny adaptation reset via star.

Earlier in the day it was driving fine in winter mode. Just tried going for a ride. Tranny is whining and no engagement. I've just about had it with this car.

Have you checked the fluid level? If you are going to do the plate and PWM you'll have to drop the pan anyway so check to make sure the filter is secure while your in there.

Tranny not engaging. Is this a definite mechanical failure ?

It definitely could be but I would suspect that it would just happen all of a sudden. As much as I hate to admit this. When I did my plate and pwm I forgot to reinstall the the filter. The trans would work until it got hot and then there was not enough fluid in the pan for the spout to suck it up.

If tranny not engaging, then prefer to jack the car & put it in D position, see if tq.converter is stuck(not rotating), need new one,,

or if it rotating, then it might be internal B1/K1 clutches are gone..!!

Didn't know a C32 could give this much headache. Sorry to hear your woes man. Hope you get fixed with it soon. Like everyone mentioned check the essentials as well as the plug connector pins. As insame1 mentioned, google your issues and read all the listings that pop up. Go through them as fault diagnostics. That way you can iron them all out and hopefully report to us with the outcome and solution. Good luck

My money is on conductor plate........I'm surprised it was not replaced when the trans was out....thats the time to do it. They can cause your trans to get really flakey and can be had for like $200. If it's original that's my bet.
