Exclamation Front 6-pot calipers from SLK55AMG. Can I use 345mm brakes?

Finally bought pair of 6pot front calipers from SLK55. I'm gonna use them on my C55.
Guys, do you know, can I use my original C55 brake discs with these calipers? 345mm
Calipers are regular ones (for 340mm rotors), NOT 030 package.

Thanks

So we have to run 6/4 pots to have balanced system? I would mess mine up if I went with 4pots from slk55 in the rear while still keeping stock front setup?

You can use 4-pot or 6-pot Fronts & Rears, nothing to do with balanced..!,,

the only thing to consider, is Front Rotor should to be bigger than Rear Rotor for braking mass weight of the Engine..!!

So no modifications needed? It doesn't matter that rotors 5mm bigger than slk55 ones?

As i remember; you only need to put (2mm) washers between hub & caliper bracket, to balanced the caliper in the Rotor center,,

(340x32 VS 345x30)

Thanks for the info!

Check the CLK forum. I did a post on this. Although I don't think I put photos of the front. None the less as Zayed mentioned, use industrial type washers as I did. I wrote in the post what I used as my disc were shot and new ones locally from agents are insanely priced. Nobody else stocks them two piece in my area so I would have to opt for Ebay which I didn't. Only difference I noticed was heavier steering.

you have to use the Rotors from the SLK55 For the 6/4 Setup and also you will have to cut the Dust Shield a bit to fit the Caliper.

yes, I know that, but thanks

One more question.. Anyone painted calipers with regular car paint? Is it ok or I need only heat-resistant paint? Also what lacquer should I use?

Regular car paint should work. As long as you apply clear coat thereafter. 2k lacquer is always best for that shine. Dono if you guys call it that over there.

Probably 1.2k lacquer knowing us crazy non-metric types.

Changed my mind on painting calipers, because my car is silver and I don't think yellow or orange calipers will suit my car. Just done a touch up to mask scuffs, I'll leave original color Not like new of course, but I think on a car it will be OK
