Porterfield Pads

I tracked down the PNs for the R4S pads, and they are: AP847 (Front) and AP603 (Rear). Does anyone have these pads? How are they? What retailer did you get them from?

R4s

Had the R4S' installed up front only about 7,000 miles ago. Bought them from Jerry at www.myroadster.net. I'd say that they are noticeably grippier in an extreme braking situation. I don't track the car or drive the car hard enough for long periods of time to comment on the performance of the pads in real heated conditions.
I can tell you that the amount of brake dust up front has considerably decreased. Its a great change of pace to clean your front wheels once every week or two instead of every other day.

I have the R4s front and rear and don't notice any braking improvement over stock. They do cause much less brake dust accumulation on the front wheels, which may be there only strong point. And yes, they will occasionally squeal, not very loud and usually just the last 5 feet before the car comes to a stop.

If you only drive on the street and can live with the brake dust I would stay with the stock brake pads.

Had absolutely no squealing when I installed a set upfront only. If you order from Jerry they come with an an Anti squeal spray and or paste, along with (I believe) some paper to use on your rotors. I think that if you follow the directions in that kit and break in your pads properly, the chances of having brake squeal issues are pretty slim
