have had my c55 for about a week and have been lurking for about a month
can anyone direct me or tell me what modifications are available, their cost, and how much extra hp/torque/performance/ they would provide?
possibly also give me a rank order on thier rank order!!

They quote stock torque at 378 lb-ft, and MB quotes 376 but who's counting.

Rgds,

they quote it based on a calculated amount to the flywheel they get after they dyno the C55!!!! MB sometimes overrates or underrates vehicles...and sometimes there are freak cars taht come out of AMG that are a little faster or a little lighter then others!!!

definately try www.renntechmercedes.com
Ive had great experiences with past dealings with this company!!! Also they rate the HP gains very conservatively so you know that their mods will gain AT LEAST the quoted amount... often more, never less!!! My buddy Neal (BlackC230coupe) is a dealer for RENNTech, Im sure he can help you out. He's offering free shipping on items this month.. email him info@eurteckmotorsports.com

sorry for hijak - but benzoAMGpower, did you ever dyno your car or time it at a track? i would love to see what type of power RENNtech makes at the wheels, if they're conservative.

Welcome! The best bang for the buck mods are the Renntech ECU and carbon fiber airbox. I think its about 20hp and 24lbs of torque gain. We are offering free overnight shipping on the ECUs both ways. Check out the site in my sig or email me for prices.

1.99 60ft time and 12.9 @ 109mph, thats not even goign full throttle in 1st gear.. which I could have and should have considering the amount of VHT layed on the track that night!!!

Very good,, Great choice of color>>>>>>>

There are 2 guys for performance mods in eastern Canada.

MNG on the MBCanada forum can get everything you need.

Contact him through the forum at:
http://www.mbcanada.com/forum/index.php?act=idx

Salvatore in Blainsville PQ: http://www.salvatoremotorsports.com/
Talk to Franco there.

In western Canada, Harris is your guy and he can be reached through this forum.

Hope to see around some time.

Does installing them void your warranty? Also, are they fairly easy to install or do you need to take them to a mechanic?

No, they should not void the factory warrenty. The ECU is very easy to take out, that can be done yourself. The airbox is also a simple intsall with regular tools. Both can be done your self.

if you need anything else, email me at info@euroteckmotorsports.com

Umm...

Just checked out www.renntechmercedes.com for the C55 mods... The ECU/Airbox package upgrade is $3500!! I'm sorry, but that is just way too much to spend for 20bhp. Are these prices written in stone?

Call Franco Salvatore or Mike NG at

http://www.salvatoremotorsports.com/

I think the air box is nolr required on the C55 as the stock is fine with better filters. Just do a KLEEMANN ECU upgrade and save $2800.00

What filter should I use with my stock airbox? Also, do you have the Kleeman ECU installed in your C55? What do you think?

I installed K&N filters

I also had my ECU done at Kleeman and its been installed for 2 months.
First impressions:

Greatly increased throttle reponse
Even Broader power band
Power comes on REALLY, REALLY fast and is much more dynamic
Shifts in M are much crisper both up and down
At least 10% better fuel economy

Wow, sounds impressive... I've noticed so far the shifting in "S" isn't very smooth. Is that corrected at all?

Can the ECU install be done myself?

PS - I looked for my filter on K&N's web site and they say it's not available... Do you have a part number I can use?

Yes...it seems to smooth out shifting in S as well. Downshifts in auto are better placed as well.
'
VERY easy to re and re the ECU. They provided a Picture set of directions.

kleemann has a fantastic reputation backed by solid history working with benz, and shows a very promising future with their reshaping of their company in the past two years or so. i heard their ecu is a great upgrade for c55 especially for its price. get the supercharger while you're at it :p
