AMG 55 Game is over !

Believe or not , here is the data I got. Time to save up.

C55 367hp replace-> C60 420hp and C63 520hp V8
( possibly C60 is W203 , and C63 is the new 2006/7 C-Class )

CLK55 retained + CLK63

E55 467hp replace-> E63 530hp

SLK55 360hp replace-> SLK60 420hp + SLK63 520hp

Current S65 + S63 (new) 530-550hp

CLS55 -> replace-> CLS63 520-550hp
+ new CLS65 ( with Biturbo engine share with S65 ) 612hp

CL55 replace-> CL63 + current CL65

SL55 replace-> SL63 + current SL65

ML55 347hp replace-> new M-Class ML60 420hp 6 litre V8
+ ML63 6.3 V8 520hp

Sorry, I was not specifically looking for more info but the source of the info that you did provide (i.e. what magazine). See "Title" of my previous post.

Rgds,

because it is a 'local mag', and the way they presented poorly; I would not mention its name and would like someone to verify instead
sorry for the confusion

C 32 AMG (203.065)
There will be no C60/SLK60/ML60 and CLS65 (only 63). For the 6.3 engine itself, even though I'm only quite sure for the W164= 503 hp, and 600 nm of torque. In other models, engine could possibly have more power.. All information still on paper, no engine has been built yet.

but for the rest, should be def. coming..

2005 Brilliant Silver C55
I also read excerpts in various mags that the new AMG models will all be fed with the 6.3 litre engine and the 5.5 will shelved. The 6.3 will have two versions, N/A and Kompressor, with engine outputs in the 500 and 600 HP ranges, respectively.

The new C60 will have the N/A 6.3 litre near 500 HP engine and the C63 will have the 600 HP Kompressor engine. These are slated for the 2007/2008 model year. The present C55 will remain basically unchanged until then. I just hope that the new model incorporates a LSD, lighter weight, less understeer, faster shifts. lumbar support and 19's.

What a car!!!

Wonder what that will do to the prices of C55's or worse yet C32's??

That's good. At least we know 6.3 V8 is the key AMG engine.
Since the CLK55 is retained, so I guess the C55 will be retained , or at least for the time of W203.

C63 won't be cheap and I am quite happy with C55's N/A 367hp; any additonal horsepower means stiffer the body and suspension , thus less comfort for day2day. Kill fuel for sure.

Anyhow, if 420hp C60 were true, that will be something MB put up to beat the new M3 ( or M4 whatever it is called ).

Love to try NA 6.3 litre on the C, the torque must be lovely! Even now the C55 can take over most cars on the roads just staying on fifth gear!

I hope the C63 won't be toom uch more expensive. I was hoping to get my hands on one when it comes out. I'm hoping price stays mid 60s.

Hello CynCavin32

NO SIR, it is not only one trip to Germany .... would be too easy of course !

In the last years I had the change to drive all the AMG cars on the market - purchased some of them, tested some of them - even models you had never seen, or guessed even. Signed as well for some models you are dreaming about - but I am not announcing anything - before they are in my garage.

Thats the difference .... between some serious people and some "wanna bees" ... OK ??

THIS is enough explenation ?? Or do YOU really think that EVERYBODY can have a taxi ride in a DTM C-Class with Bernd Schneider ??

GO on with your comments ....

kind regards from France

Walter

Hello Barry

I would not bet on a "C 63" before Summer 2006 .... Honestly, I did not hear/recognise anything about this so far. But I am not a specialist in future models - I am maybe a little bit informed ....

Wish you all a nice evening from France

Walter

Honestly YOU want to know how I was feeling ??
Thanks GOD, I only had mineral water for lunch befoere - otherwise .....

The acceleration is not that bad ... but then if they brake ..... speed in the turns .... dont want to think about this ....

BUT if anyone is interested - I made a MPEG video with a small SONY cam of this turns ... it is really a awfull quality - but nice to see - you can even feel the "G-force" when you look at it....

Unfortunately .... there is no space on my personal server for 60 MB of Mpeg - but a "specialist" is able to convert this mpeg to a smaller size - I am sure...

kind regards

Walter

Walter, you're a clever man, and damn lucky What would be the surprise in telling us whats coming for the next 4 years? Just be patient guys....

Harris is the main guy if you need any tuning parts from nearly every tuner, he can get you AMG LSD's to name a very few exclusive parts, which I don't think any other member/company is offering for the NA market...or indeed even in the UK! You can bet he has some "contacts" down at AMG....

If any of this is true, it really makes alot of us not want to buy a new Mercedes product if they cannot stay relatively consistant from year to year. Why buy something that you know will be outdated sooner than later?

Many that are considering buying or updating have to take into consideration that the purchase of a MB will be outdated in a year or two. If this fact continues, many of us will not bother buying this product any more for fear of losing on the resale and value of their original purchase. The ones with the big bucks may not care, but I would guess that most purchasing C, SLK, CLK and E class Mercedes have some economics at play.

Also, if we all just wait until something like a C63 comes out, then MB may get a market signal as sales will drop. I remember when the C32 was out, it was much rarer to see one on the showroom floor and it was a waiting list only product. C55's (although better cars) are already sitting around, no real waiting list, and the economy is much stronger now than it was back then. I would attribute part of this to people sitting on the sidelines waiting to see what will be announced or released when and deciding when to buy.

Just my thoughts.
