Wink Motor tests C55 (Australia)

Motor tested the C55 and i sat in one at the Brisbane Motor Show last week.
This has got to be the best all round everyday AMG yet. For a car I (actually my awsome wife) could use in the city every day, this is the one.

Motor's figure are a bit slow;

0-100 kmh : 6.18s
0-400m : 14.25@168.4 kmh
0-1000m : 25.29@220.1 kmh

The car got 4th (out of 21) and they praised its handling and the whole package.

By the way, the problem with the slower times was the fact that the engine was so responsive and sharp, it had traction issues. A nice grag strip instead of a dust runway would see time fall by at least 0.5s.

An opinion without expression is a thought. Therefore there are no opinions which are kept to one self.

Nope. Definition of opinion:

1) A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: “The world is not run by thought, nor by imagination, but by opinion” (Elizabeth Drew).

2) A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert: a medical opinion.

3) A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing: has a low opinion of braggarts.

4) The prevailing view: public opinion.

5) Law. A formal statement by a court or other adjudicative body of the legal reasons and principles for the conclusions of the court.

True, they didn't ban you...they just shut down all of the threads you started in the kill stories forum. Your past is catching up with you, dude.

I haven't read this month's Motor mag (it's the PCOTY issue, right?), but those times are pretty much in line with what they've achieved in the past - slow times :p

Having said that, times weren't tested on a drag-strip plus there's usually 2 passengers in the car and video equipment to record the video they make.

When you learn to read then the chances of you learning to speak will markedly improve. Contention and conjecture rules in place of the obvious. Seeing fit as I do to inform you that it agrees with my statement.

An act of withdrawn thought is never an opinion. Even a fool knows that.

When you learn manners and debating skills, the chances of my caring what you think will markedly improve.

Arrogance and insolence are no substitute for informed intelligence. To wit: you are arguing with a dictionary definition, one which plainly shows that YOUR contention was incorrect. There was no conjecture here; you gave an incorrect definition, one which was proven to be wrong. Perhaps I should post the definition for conjecture as well: here you go, sweet lips:

Then perhaps you should inform the fools at dictionary.com of their rather grievous error; you might also want to get in touch with the fools over at Webster's as well, because they link to this site.

As to fools: maybe the fool is the one who has been proven wrong yet continues to belabor a lost point, the definition of "opinion" for example, while simultaneously doing a terrific impression of a pedantic bore, i.e., you, sir. But then, perhaps it's not an impression....unfortunately, your throwing out a few two dollar words hardly masks the fact that your definition was a few dollars short.

DEFINITION OF OPINION, AGAIN:

1) A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: “The world is not run by thought, nor by imagination, but by opinion” (Elizabeth Drew).

2) A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert: a medical opinion.

3) A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing: has a low opinion of braggarts.

4) The prevailing view: public opinion.

5) Law. A formal statement by a court or other adjudicative body of the legal reasons and principles for the conclusions of the court.

Please forgive me for not being wowed by your pseudo intellect.

The MOTOR article said the C55 is slower in acceration than the C32. I lost interest in the car right there.

C55
time 6:43pm
temp 31 degrees celcius
press 101.1kpa
24% RH

0-100km/h (62mph) = 6.18s
0-400m (~1/4mile) = 14.25 @ 168.4km/h (104.7mph)
0-1000m = 25.29s @ 220.1km/h (136.7mph)

CL65
time 4:30pm
temp 34 degrees celcius
press 101.1kpa
19% RH

0-100km/h (62mph) = 4.64s
0-400m (~1/4mile) = 12.59@ 190.0km/h (118.1mph)
0-1000m = 22.35s @ 248.1km/h (154.2mph)

its worth noting that for the C55's 0-speed and 0-distance times are slower than the c32 tested 3 years ago, but terminal speeds @400m and 1km are faster. That tells me that the c55 is faster when it has traction.

As soon as I saw POTY in the Motor mag, I bought it and read every word of it. The comments made on the C55 were fairly positive, I think the writers were actually suprised by its laptime, the final verdict on the C55 was if only it had a manual gearbox, a very nice read though

always enjoyed POTYs
