C43 AMG in Movie
I forgot that our beloved car was featured in a big blockbuster movie 
If any of you have or haven't seen Rome Must Die the C43 has a big part.
However the movie is somewhat lame. For those that don't know about it, it is an action flick that takes place in oakland, with famous actors / musicans such as Jet Li, DMX, and Aaliyah.

no **** a C43? Dope! im gonna watch that again haha, i used to have a W124 and the best 124 movie feature is the 6 ones in the bourne identity painted all black stealth styles , i cried and screamed after every crash hah!

The car gets trashed, and even though you may be led to believe it's oakland, just like most Hollywood movies it's filmed up in Vancouver.

Ya, saw it years and years ago when the movie 1st came out on video. It was much more then a tailside shot. I was eggstatic @ 1st.
What disappointed me tho after the initial eggcitement wore off was with the stunts they were doing, it was obvious they were driving like 35mph for much of it. Even when they slid the car a little, it was still quite low speed. Killed the whole thing for me.

Regardles of where it was shot, or how they drove it, it is nice to see they put the c43 in amovie. Being such a rare car. I'm sure they could have chosen other vehicles of the time. I wonder what happened to that exact car?

mercedes does tons of product drops and placements in movies,they problay pay alot of money for these parts.
What year did Romeo Must Die come out? If it was anywhere near when the C43 was brand new and coming out, thats why its in that movie!
You can see the car in many shots through out the movie until its finally trashed, its one of the main characters car (Aaliyah)

I believe the Bourne Identity with Matt Daimon has a few benz vehicles in there. I think I recall some older E-class taxis or police cars. I also think I remember a car chase that wrecked a G-wagon.....foggy memory

The reason why Vancouver has so many more movies filmed in it than USA cities is becuase American cities dont want movies filmed in them, they charge the producer obscene amounts of cash and make many laws/rules they have to follow. Canada however encourages filming becuase they want more people to go there for the filming and they will make more money.
