Pray for my Silver Friend....

Car went in today guys, I had to acept the fact that I just don't have the time or proper facitlity to support this install. I promised myself I wouldn't pay to have this installed so I feel a bit defeated. It's been too long and it needs to go in.

I just hope these parts work better as a supercharger than a dust collector. I have to admit they have been damn good as a dust collector. My girlfriend seems to think that all the car parts really tie the room together. A nice industrial look edge to the room.

Pray that things go smoothly.........

Now Now.... positive karma reinforcement here... The 1st gen has a better reputation then the 2nd gen unit. There's some good "grass roots" knowledge available on this board too in how to keep the AFR optimal if I remember correctly, if you find the HPS mechanism isn't what you want. If the unit was a bit quieter and air filter wasn't located in the front right bumper near the ground (I have a lot of sand on the road where I live), I'd probably have one myself.

I think power gain is 100 crank horsepower. Car dyno's at 300whp. Thats what old wbesite said. New hps site doesn't really offer a whole lot of info.

By the way, before I bought my benz now, a guy in vallejo was selling an hps c43 which I test drove. It does have lots of power. And it sounds bad *** too. Reason I didn't buy was guy didn't take care of it. I could go into detail as to what was wrong but i'll spare you the boredom.

I hope to get around 315hp at the wheels. My baseline was just under 240hp so around +80hp at the wheels making the engine a little over 400hp.

AFR: is air fuel ratio. The supercharger will force extra air into the combustion chambers so additional fuel is needed to keep the ratio proper. I've purchased a better fuel management unit than what was supplied. It will allow further adjustment which is good if I deciede to up the boost or modify anything that alters fuel needs.

Does the HPS unit come with a "chip" ? I would think that if it did, the chip would address the fuel management issue.

I actually love the sound of it. It sounds like an SVT cobra. I think the SVT cobras use the same magnasun MP90 that the HPS kit does. I also think the ford lightnings use it to but I'm not certain. The air filter actually mounts behind the passenger headlamp. It should have very little exposure to road junk. The system really is damn simple. A basic but proven design.

Thanks for the positive karma, always needed

No chip. An adjustable FMU(purchased separatly) to keep fuel pressure at the motor, and a little electronic box that wires in line between the ECU and MAF sensor. The rest is pretty much plug and play.

Good luck, and don't forget to post some pics!

Edit: Are you keeping the stock exhaust setup?

I should think by friday as long as we don't need to order any parts or anything. I spoke with the installer today and he said the car is on the lift and that everything is going pretty good. He builds crazy 9 and 10 second hondas and acuras. Although not my cup of tea with the honda thing he builds some crazy custom fabricated turbos manifolds for anything imaginable.
