suspension rattling!

suspension rattling!
hey guys,

whenever i drive over rough road surfaces, a nasty rattle happens from the front of the car. sounds like its coming from the suspension ... im 99.99% sure that its not from something like an altoids tin rattling away in the glove box. ive had this problem with my old car, as did a friend of mine with her BMW.

anyone have any input as to what this may be? bushings? i have warranty, but wanted some idea b4 taking it into the dealership.

Get it to a garage and put it on a lift. That would be my first move. You will most likely find the problem. If something is loose you should be able to find it.

ur gonna have to put it up in the air and try to localize the sound, it could be a broken sway bar bracket. the rear links like to fail often too, but ur saying its from the front.... good luck

get your car up in the air and check the lower control arm bushings, check for cracks and tears in the stock rubber bushings.

im planning on taking my car into service this week, under warranty. if i do, i'll let you all know what the problems were/are.

nice ill tell them the car rides fine i just hear the rattle but ill get em to peep the sway bars ! thanks again!

Maybe...

Lower control arm bushings
Tie rods - Requires new drag link assembly
Steering Damper

At least that is what MB told me and my steering/suspension seems perfectly fine and doesn't even rattle!

ok, guys. had my car fixed at the dealership. according to them, here were the problems (like with OzC36):

(1) tie rod ends
(2) lower control arm bushings
