--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For W202 mid 96-99
Front(W210 part number) :
210 321 01 84 pad#1 5 mm
210 321 02 84 pad#2 9 mm
210 321 03 84 pad#3 13 mm
210 321 04 84 pad#4 17 mm
210 321 05 84 pad#5 21 mm

Rear(W210 part number) :
210 325 01 84 pad#1 5 mm
210 325 02 84 pad#2 9 mm
210 325 03 84 pad#3 13 mm
210 325 04 84 pad#4 17 mm

For W202 94-mid 96
Front(W201 part number) :
201 321 09 84 pad#1 8 mm
201 321 10 84 pad#2 13 mm
201 321 11 84 pad#3 18 mm
210 321 12 84 pad#4 23 mm

Rear(W201 part number) :
201 325 09 44 pad#1 8 mm
201 325 10 44 pad#2 13 mm
201 325 11 44 pad#3 18 mm

The different between W201 and W210 part number is because of the different shape of the spring.

The W201 spring pad has flat surface where W210 spring pad as a grove where the spring will sit.

On the earlier W202 cars the edges of the spring is tappered, that's why they use W201's spring pad which has flat surface..

Hope this helps.

Regards,

J Irwan"

yes, lensolo! that helps a bunch. i appreciate you researching the club202 board!

im obsessing over getting all of the parts and materials together so that i can have a relatively smooth spring-swapping experience. but you know what they say about the best-laid plans ...

No problem! There are a ton of threads on Club202.com about spring installs. In your search, you'll find many articles on changing springs with and without spring compressors, choosing the correct pads and how to identify them, etc.

Where in LA are you?

I once watched a neighbor (when I lived in some cheap apartments when I was first on my own many years ago!) try to lower his 83 Celica without compressors. He had a jigsaw and a carbide blade for it. He jacked the front end up a few inches, got in there with the saw to cut a coil off. When he got about half way through the coil snapped off and stuck right into/through his fender. Lucky for him it was curved and as a result got wedged otherwise it would have poked a hole right in his forehead and we'd have seen pictures on those "faces of death" websites.

Oh yes. Thanks for the reminder, SDR , Most of all PLEASE BE CAREFUL when dealing with springs. I only did my spring install without a spring compressor because;1. I didn't have one, and 2. I HAVE experience with cars and coil spring suspension. I have also heard the stories of people losing control of the coils and it's really scary. But, if you have the experience and know what you're doing, you shouldn't be in any more danger than putting jack stands under your car.

m a x i m u s, Let me know when you are ready to do everything and I could definitely offer my garage and tools and help you with the wrenching and stuff(as long as you don't mind a short drive to SD ). Did you get your springs yet?

lensolo,

yes, i got my springs, and my spring compressor. although i havent decided on pads yet, of course. i have some wrenching experience, although i have to admit that ive never messed with coil suspensions before (except for coil overs, which are totally different in my opinion). you know, i MAY take you up on your offer. im up in LA, so not a bad drive down to SD. plus, its nice down there! i plan to do it in a the next couple of weeks...
