I have nothing to do with this but I noticed it in EBAY and it's in NJ. It's a good look if it's in great condition. Anyone interested I could swing by and chk it out. If no one is interested I may inquire.

True and I agree ,but I got my AMG C43 and my 5.5L motor from Ebay! So it does not happen all the time!

If done carefully you can narrow your chances of getting had when buying these motors. Especially if you have someone locally that could chk it out.ME!

Well here's what you do:

I would not pay a dime for the motor after winning the auction unless someone wants me to chk it out first. I can chk the serial # on the motor and call up my people(parts guy and mech at MB)! Simple!
When I purchased my car on ebay it was a local bid. When I won I went to chk out the car first and then payed the owner my winning bid.
I'm also close to this place so I can chk it out for whomever is interested and help to find out whatever info the person needs ONLY if they really want to chk this out.

As far as your 4.3L motor , sorry to hear that ,but did you ask for the motor vin and have it chkd out with the dealer? I'll admit I took a chance but read on:
I put the salvage yard through the ringer completely b4 I purchased it because the yard was in Miami. Sure there was some risk! The owner even knew me from visiting the yard b4 because my Mom lives down there in Fla. I payed them a visit among purchasing parts I needed for my C43 when i was down there with my folks.
However So far so good as you see in all my posts on both my car and the 5.5L motor in it.
I told Steve(C558m0) about a guy selling a motor in Cali.Steve ( C558m0) bought his motor all the way from Cali, never saw the motor, never knew the owner but from several conversations that we had with the seller ,whom is also a member of MBworld(MOTO), Steve's(c558m0)having no probs whatsoever as well. Steve lives about 1 hr away from me here in NYC. We both share the same mech who dropped the 5.5L motor in our C43's.

I'm willing to chk and help out if someone contacts the seller. I don't need any $$ to do anything I just wanna help out as an MB enthusiast any fellow members that are interested.

If Everything is legit then this is an EXCELLENT deal for both the tranny and motor.

Ebay! Would I do it again? I sure as hell would! Make a smart purchase by doing the inquiries and you're good to go!

Carl 347-489-9644 if interested.

yes it's a simple drop in and you don't need the tranny! Your CLK 430 tranny will bolt up and work fine!

Looks like a pre 2003 MY S55 to me. Those had a more conservative bumper than the 2003 and up.

It's a 2001-2002 S55 AMG, you can see the oil cooler, not available on 4.3 or 5.0 motor unless a Euro model 500, they have different options than the states, deff has the AMG OLDER bumper too? And what are you talking about? clearly sys AMG on the engine cover air filter housing.
