1998 AMG C43
New guy checking in...
Just thought I would drop in and say hi.
I'm a long time lurker, just bought my first MB- a silver 1998 AMG C43 with 30K miles, in mint condition. Thanks to all the great info on this site I knew what to look for and am anticipating some upgrades over the next few months. I just put new Goodyear Eagle tires on it, next up will be to lower it to Euro specs (the only negative thing I have to say about the car at this point is that it's just too high!)
After owning the car for a few weeks now, I am really enjoying everything about it- the comfort, the build quality, and especially the performance of the engine, brakes and suspension. Thanks to everyone on the forum for sharing your experience and knowledge, I'm looking forward to hanging out here.

Nice score! Extremely low mileage. I bought mine in December with 34,500 on the clock.
It's a fantastic car. Leaps and bounds better than my previous '01 GTI VR6.
I agree that the car sits a little too high from the factory. Are you going to pick up the Euro AMG springs? I'm trying to locate a source for them. Enjoy the new car.

Was that car in Tennessee? If it was, that was a nice find. My father's interested in one, but continues to waffle on one every time I find him one...thus, I have given up looking for one in his stead.

I'm going to see if I can find the Euro AMG springs, if not then I think the Brabus (like Teck's) or Eibach springs.
The car did come from TN, the previous owner took great care of it and was awesome to deal with. Some housewife in a Suburban clipped me in a parking lot 3 days after I got the car,
so it's in the shop getting repainted and a couple of wheels refinished- when I get it back I'll shoot some photos.
