HPS Gen 1 Blower

Not my sale, but I noticed this over on benzworld and thought someone over here might be interested. If I'm not mistaken, the Gen 1 system didn't have the bugs of Gen II. Looks like a good deal, which would at least save a lot of $$$ for tuning and building the motor up

Classified Linky

If I weren't knee deep in another project right now I'd probably consider myself

I wonder how involved it would be to retrofit this blower into an E55.

Very good price though.

My guess is that most of the work would take place on the dyno

E55cent is running the same Gen1 system on his E55. His success is what prompted me to buy my HPS Gen1

I could be wrong, but I thought that I read the 4.3 motors use the MP90 s/c whereas the 5.0+motors use MP112. Heck of a deal regardless.

The Gen 1 kits use the MP90 for all. The newer GenII used the MP112. The MP90 is a bit small for the 5.5 discplacement and has to spin a little too fast. Mario has pushed his 210 E55 a bit with added boost and meth/H20 to make 400whp. The C43 with less discplacement works more effeciently and made 342whp 370wtq with no other mods. Our outcome was a bit more than what we expected for unknown reasons. Cold Morning? My car can reach 200 degree IAT's during the summer which is very bad. 60 degree weather crusing I log 90-150 degrees. This also tells me that my car isn't making the most power it can. With a meth/H20 setup which is relatively cheap, a C43 with the HPS gen 1 is 400whp no prob. Gobs of torque also. The only thing that can realy fail on the kit is the blower itself in terms of barrings and stuff. $250 to rebuild and it should last 100K. On the C43 I've beat many cars that no one would beleive so I don't bother posting it...LOL.

I wish I had something to bolt this too. Very good price. If anyone is interested I've had my hands and head stuck in this thing for a looonng time so feel free to shoot me a PM.

Len, buy this. I need a forced induction C43 friend. I even have an extra FMU, and spare parts you would need.........giving you no excuse.

NitrogenBalance..
So, overall you don't really have any problem with the on your car with the HPS 1gen supercharger, and how many miles do you with the supercharger on? You mentioned your IAT will reach 200 degree IAT's during the summer, ever think about fab. a air to air intercooler maybe? I'm very interested in purchasing it. how do you like it also? thanks

Not sure how many miles exactly, maybe 10K or more. About two years of pretty hard use. I kinda drive like a manic. The only problems I had was missing a couple parts during install. Tires are an issue too The system is very simple so once you see it installed it's easy to figure out.

I have a laughable engineering background and have stared at this system for days and still can't find any room to fab a worthwhile IC, be it air to air or air to water. The small barrel intercoolers can be used but the only useable size is too small and psi drop is more than 3lbs. Every thing I've thought up points back to an H20/meth setup. The setup I will be installing over winter is from cooling mist. It will mount in the trunk were the battery is. It is activated by boost, and flows based on the MAF signal. The system even has a low flow/clog alert that signals a bypass to bleed off boost should you increase boost into dangerous areas. I'm currently at 4.5psi and will use this as a safeguard to mill my pulley down to build around 6-7psi.

With this it really comes down to bang for buck.

Well, what am I waiting for?!?! I have about $24, so I'll need a bit more. Since you have all those spare parts I need, I can use some spare cash too! Thanks, Wes!!!

For reals, I would LOVE to buy this kit but It just wouldn't be smart for me to at the moment.

I'll dig some info up. You could also search a ton of posts under my name and find some stuff, mostly rants...

Here is a video.

Check out the picture section of some undated pics with the custom exhaust and such.

....and Len I'm just as broke as you my friend.
