1995 Mercedes c36 amg

My 1995 c36 amg will not start in P

It only starts in N, anyone have any suggestions??

Sounds to me like the Ecu doesn't see the tranny in park.

Is the ECU expensive to change? Could it not be the neutral safetly switch?

try to put the gear in neutral then see if it starts.

probrably your neutral switch, you may want to check and see if both your shifter bushings are there and acutally putting the switch into park.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.

a 95 the nss may also incorporate the back up light so with the car on and the back clear of objects put it in reverse and have someone off to the side see if you have back up lights.If not the nss is faulty.Some of the older ones can be adjusted.Although it may be shot and just as easy to replace as to adjust.

from the picture it does seem to be adjustable so give yours a try before you write it off,it may have just vibrated off its proper spot.

I'm driving a 95 c36 at the moment too, same problem, have heard its the switch too. can you keep me posted on what it actually is, its lower on the list of things to do but does need attention.
