legitimate air-water intercooler set-up on HPS GEN I

Sorry for cell phone pics

no hard data yet- other than that the core was at 24 celsius today after some hard driving when the sc outlet was at 38 (ambient was 18) according to my laser thermometer. iat gauge is backordered.

parts-

2004 cobra heat exchanger
rule 401c pump from frozenboost
3/4" hose kit from frozenboost
core from frozenboost
assorted other things
some cutting!

and of course- custom output for supercharger... look at the pics closer if you didn't notice

Wow. Thats awesome. Any issues with the hood? I had a feeling things were gonna get cut.

A quick FYI with the IAT gauge. I spent months trying to find one and actually ordered one from summit racing along with an Ebay vendor. Both on back order. After weeks of calling both vendors I was finally told by the manufacture that it was no longer produced. I lucked out and found the CF autometer gauge on ebay. It was tough.

Nice work.

i orderd the cyberdyne gauge to match my others from summit about 6 weeks ago- i will call them now to see if they are going to be able to find it for me. I suppose using my digital thermometer to at least indirectly measure can tell me if it's workign somewhat for now.

no real issues with the hood- i think i have just over 1" of clearance as it sits now. This was after a ton of massaging and working things around under there. Also, the piping "up" from the back of the motor was not exactly fun.

i can't decide if the pump looks super bada$% or ridiculously dumb sitting down there.

I do think the front bumper looks just find cut the way i cut it (i removed a large piece)

thanks!

IMO it looks like you drove into the pump on the highway at 100mph and it got stuck there. Personally I would try to hide it a little better.

The Air to Water looks sick!! Great job!

i'm afraid painting it or fabricating a cover will make it even odder looking

It looks like the white pump has a plastic housing right? I'd just grab a can of that fusion plastic paint. Paint it flat black and I think it will blend just fine. Or at least be less noticable. $5 fix.

yeah- painting it black with plastic paint might not be a bad solution at all- let's make sure it works well for a while first though.

thus far i'm happy with my equipment choices etc. etc.

it's not for the faint of heart- cutting and redoing supercharger outlet pipe
