Did the light come on after revving
it in neutral? Most benz have not only a speed limiter but also a park rev limiter that kicks in at about 4000rpm.
Where are you located?
Get the codes read for free at autozone or shucks
or buy the 94169 obd2 scanner from
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/retail_stores.taf
they will meet the internet price if you have a store near you.
Post the codes,it usually is an easy fix.

yes
sire the MAF sensor not sure where's it's located on the 43's but on any care it should be between the air box and throttle body somewhere, take it out and spray it good with CRC MAF sensor cleaner, and let it sit for a half hour to dry, u may get a weird smell after you start the car after cleaning it, this is normal..

You
need to read the codes, before cleaning or replacing anything.
Z06 is talking about your mass air sensor. And while not expensive at $168 no need to clean or replace it,until you have the codes read.
post them when you get them.

P0130 and P0133 - are indicators of a bad MAF. Your described symptoms sounds like a bad MAF - extremely simple DIY. IM me if you wish, I'll give you phone # so I can walk you through, if need be.

Maf
codes usually ar p0170 and p0173.
p013* codes are usually indicative of o2 sensors.
Post the codes if you still need help.

actually MAF codes return values for fuel trim on banks 1 and 2. bad MAF can cause 02 to give bad readings so if you get an 02 sens code check and see if its sens 1 or 2 and on bank 1 or 2. then clear the code and see if the exact same o2 sens is reporting, then you must replace the o2 sens. as for the fuel trim, if you have one o2 sens reporting and youre strill getting fuel trim on both banks then it means its the MAF...
something like P0170 and 0171 i think...

p0170 and p0173
fuel trim codes if both are present at the same time maf out of range or faulty.
Clean it with crc brand maf cleaner or replace it and the ecu will adapt.
One o2 sensor will not report to or affect both banks thus not affect both fuel trim codes and only cause a fuel trim code on one bank, therefore not the maf.
He needs to get the codes or code or we're all pissing in the dark
So where is the op amd if he is concerned with the problem please post the codes

p010* are maf range high or low values
P0100 is most likely a circuit malfunction, meaning the thermistor that gets cooled by the passing volume of air is shot.
Try cleaning it per the diy on benzworld w210 diy section, but I think it is just time for a new one.
www.autohausaz.com
also make sure the harness is plugged in fully to rule out a bad connection.
When you get a p0170 and p0173 fuel trim code that is a sign to try and clean with the crc brand maf cleaner, when you get a clear p010* code it is usually time for a new maf.
Toss in a new air filter from autohausaz while you have it apart.

do three things....
1) clean MAS w/ crc mass air sensor cleaner
2) after you do that clean with 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean an excess residue
3) check your rubber air intake couplers (both before and after mass air sensor). Mine were cracked on the bottom side thereby giving false readings. Check my "Silicone intake coupler" thread in my signature for more info, this is very common. I thought it would be expensive fix, ended up costing me $15 total, haven't had the problem since.
