1997 being the most rare, 1 of 236 (although its lower now, few of those crashes were 97s), 1995 roughly 325 (already down to 322 that I know of) and 1995 were 444 (but again less now)
Im pretty sure those numbers are right or very close, I know the total for sure was 1018, so my math is off a bit, but its roughly around there.

as for citation, i dont know if wikipedia is credible to you but if you look up the c class history it mentions something about having manufactured 5200 c36's worldwide over all 3 years. hope that helps.
