oil low again???

changed my oil about 1k miles ago but when I was driving home from davis, my "low oil" lamp was on for a few mins then it went of

never came back on again

I checked my oil level and its sitting down by the bottom of the stick when the car is hot, same thing when its cold

I don't think my car is leaking oil, I don't see it leaving drops anywhere

any ideas??

It is not the oil leak it is the technical fault with the meter.

Get it checked properly or see for loose connections

After the oil change, did you drive the car, get it hot, and check the level again? The reason I ask is "full" after the change, but before the car has been driven, is different than "full" afterwards. The oil filter can soak up a fair amount of oil.

Interestingly enough, I have had a similar thing happen in the last couple weeks. Had actually just added a half quart of oil into the motor (it was nearing the bottom of the recommended limit), while cold mind you, and then headed off on a road trip. Not more than 300 miles later or so, I got another intermittent low oil light. Definitely struck me as strange since I normally barely use any oil at all, let alone that much. Anyway, let the car cool down, and it still had somewhere near half a quart to go until the fill line. Hasn't illuminated since, but I suppose it could have been lots of oil tied up somewhere else in the system. It wasn't hard cornering or anything else that may have driven oil away from the sensor either. Anyway.....just my experience...

for some strange reason

for some strange reason, i did my oil change this past weekend together with my front brake pads...for some reason i was idling the car to get the oil circulating, my check engine light started flashing and i came on for good...so to reset the annoying CHECK ENGINE light i just took off the battery connection..is this normal?? i know i put the right kind of oil, right filter and o-rings..right amount of oil...after i did the battery connection the check engine light never came back on...

low oil level indicator light on-reason?

reading around this problem looks is not one off. not allways it is a faulty sensor. how hot is running your engine? the temp should not go over 90 gr celcius (the temp indicator should never go over the top of the nr 8 from the 80deg celcius number). it is a fair way to go still on the white scale till the red zone. can you hold with a stick even with your finger (be brave)the fan in the front of the engine while the temp goes over 80? yes ? that's not good. at 85 this should take off like a propeller cutting your finger. when you rev the engine to 4500 one of the watter hoses close to radiator, on the top right, it is sucked in obstructing the water flow? yes- replace the cap on top of the radiator, it is blocked, rusty it is not breeding. all of these small problems indicate, sometime in the past your engine was overheat. how bad? bad enough to create problems deep inside to make the oil light to come on randomly, usually when you go fast to 150-200km/hr (ok all this time) and slow down quick to 80-100km/hr (now the light will come on) and can go away when you'll go fast again or you stop and start again and cruise at a moderate speed. this is what I experience in the past and all is accurate and real. might be other reasons which I not aware of .
