C43 A/C Compressor Replacement, Help?
Does anybody have a guide on replacing the A/C Compressor/Dryer on a C43. My mechanic wants 1700 and I can buy the parts for 300.

The actual replacement of the A/C compressor is easy.
Is the old compressor leaking or has in failed internally? If it failed internally then take it somewhere where they will flush the system fully otherwise your new compressor will live a short life.
If it was just leaking then it will be easy to replace.
1) Release all the gas in the system
2) Drive the car up onto ramps/jack car up
3) Remove the drive belt
4) Remove both A/C lines to the compressor (from the top, remove washer bottle for better access)
5) Unbolt the compressor from below (3 or 4 bolts on the side of it)
6) Remove the compressor out the bottom
7) Install new compressor with new seals on the A/C lines.
8) Refit drivebelt
9) Drive to you local A/C service center to replace the drier and charge the system.

Thanks
The parts came in and everything went according to your guidance (except it took me an hour to figure out how to release the belt tensioner)
Everything works great and my total bill was $386.41 instead of $1700

I only replaced the dryer.
It came with the compressor kit which included the oil. Months later everything is still working perfectly
