Tick tick boom
Seems that my motor sent some of itself through the bottom end today. Not really sure what happened yet, was pulling out of a gas station maybe a quarter throttle up to about 10mph when it blew. I think it was my new meth/H20 setup that did it. Terrible sound, like a bad accident. It dumped the 8 quarts of oil within minutes so I have a feeling its a good sized hole punched through the lower pan area.
The car is in storage again. I'll jack it up and check things out in a day or two as I have no interest in it at the moment

I saw the title to the post and was thinking 'it can't be that' before I clicked on it. Sorry to hear man. I guess the only condolence is that there are 5.4L engines out there to replace it with. Keep us updated.

Sorry to hear that, my condolences. Odds are its probably snapped con-rod punched a hold into the oil pan after it snapped. Hopefully you can get her up and running soon.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

Could be. I didn't even take the splash pan off but it blew something out its ***, the parts should be sitting in there when I do. I'm starting to think it was the solinoid settings on the meth/H20 kit as they were recently changed. There is really no other option at this point but to find a 5.5L replacement. It won't be this week though..

sounds like airplane
well yeah- obviously!
sell me your newly built-up charger... do the legwork to install a centri charger using the existing brackets etc. primarily and just bolt it all up...
I'd definitely go that route anyways- that charger isn't enough for the 5.4, but why downgrade to just an NA 5.4...

Both car and engine have 82K. The motor has been well maintained and was running exceptionally well considering the miles and the blower. The dealership has even commented on how well it idled and ran. I'm pretty certain it was my own failure that caused this and not the motor.

I took it a few times last year. ET's and 60's were terrible due to traction. I was getting 60'fts around 2.5-3.5 and low 13's. Trap speeds were around 109 with a couple breaking 110mph which was cool. I was really hoping to get the car into the 12's with the 4.3 F/I setup. I'm certain it would have too with some slicks
Being an optimist I'm kinda looking foward to a 5.5 swap. Using examples from this board it will be easier to get into 12's or even 11's with F/I.
