Just picked up my c36!!!!!!!
Our physician was selling his 1995 C36 with 58,000 miles. The car was originally owned by my grandfather and even though the last thing I needed was another car.... I had to have it.
The car is in absolutely perfect shape. All records since '95 (2 three ring binders full) Even the driver seat doesn't have cracks in the leather.
Just wanted to introduce myself and squeeze all the knowledge i can about my C36

IS THAT YOUR HOUSE IN THE BACKGROUND!!!!!!
I have a C43 and so I don't know much about your C36 but I do know the guys on this forum with C36's have wiring harness problems. I guess they were made to be bio-degradable??? Not sure but appatula is a good source for C36 knowledge as well as custom parts as well as MarcusF, he knows EVERYTHING . Sorry to offer up your help guys but I know how it is when you want knowledge and don't know a reputable source, I consider both of you reliable sources Search this forum... there are a TON of threads with C36 info

Do you recommend I do the lights with a completely stock car with all the records? I can always put the old ones back in. Just wondering, noticed your not a fan from the pictures. Also, you mentioned wire harness problems, I'm taking the car to the dealership for an inspection this week....got any more advice on what they should focus on?
THANKS
THANKS

Whattup, congrats on the C36. Mileage is pretty dang low, but that's just a plus for you. Do you plan on it being a project car, daily driver, sunday cruiser?? Because it's perfect for all three. :P

I'm going to drive it every other Saturday. Its too nice to daily drive. My grandfather who passed in 2007 drove it daily from 95-98 and it has been sitting in a garage ever since. I'll take better pictures to show you the quality of the car.

How nice are those HID lights? Just drove the 36 with halogens and for some reason the ones on the SL are better... Price with the fogs?

Welcome to the 36/43 forum. Yes indeed, the engines are fantastic, and the 95' 4 speed transmissions are bulletproof.
As far as clear corners go, my 2 cents is if you are worried about quality and don't really want to 'mod' you benz, go bosch. I got some ebay corners and hated the gap that some people seem to have, and some people don't. From my experience Depo lights are a bit inconsistent with their build quality. Search european ebay sites where the clear-corners were stock. I got the rarer, cooler (in my opinion) euro amber corners of ebay.de for, probably twice as much as the Depo ones, but they're fantastic bosch quality and slipped right in instead of the depo's which i had to wiggle into place. And considering twice as much was roughly $80, there was no competition.
