Battery replacement

I dunno if anyone asked this already but got a new battery and Im just about to replace it but wanted to know if I can just replace it without any issue or should I know about anything before I do because I know few of the Mercs require reseting and stuff of that nature so any of your inputs will be very helpful

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Most likely like

other models of that era.
Check if you have audio 10 that you have the radio code. sync windows and sun roof. All should be in the manual.
Easiest is to get one of those battery units that you clip on and it prevents any system from losing sync while the battery is swapped out.

if you have the swedish battery charger CTEK 7000 series, it has a mode for preventing faulty codes on your car.
otherwise you have to reset everything after the swap.

i had to change my battery 3 weeks ago and I have this swedish 7000 series charger, but my garage lost it's privilegies for power socket and I was doomed to replace the battery without my charger in action!
now I have error codes stored.
**** happens.

2002 CLK430
On a W208 CLK, which is very similar to a W202, there is a hot wire under the hood. The red arrow points to a cover. On a CLK, the hot wire is underneath that cover. If you have a hot wire under your hood, you can connect a jumper to it. The negative can be hooked to just about anywhere else. Then when you swap batteries, the car won’t lose power. That will save you the trouble of reloading the radio security code, re-sync'g the windows, the seats, the sunroof, and the ESP.

This is a great tip!
W210 E55 hot post is also located in the same location. Will the same trick
work for it?

12' W204 C63 AMG coupe "T-Rex", 12' W451 Smart Fortwo Pulse (99' W202 C43 AMG sold)
I had a look around the motor bay of my C43 and confirm there is a hot post under a plastic cover at the place indicated in the picture.
