Brakes for the C43
hoontastic, you know looking back i wish i would have never posted anything about brakes and let everyone whine about spending 500 dollars on front rotors, i spent many hours working on this package only to be slammed by guys that take their car to dealers, I have since found other parts that cross over thats save on pricey parts and have decided that there is no way that im letting the info out. Why, to go threw this crap again sorry not happening, sorry my c43 is my daily driver i have a 911 wide body with a big motor for fun and a race car for weekends.
again no one is twisting anyones arm on rotors, buy what you want, i for one dont care. I tried to help the community here not again

You mean Italia disc?
I tried to find out the manufacturer but I was not successful. But I don't think they are manufactured in Italy. They are not available in European market. Probably they are made in USA.

1.) Replace the front rotors with OEM rotors
2.) Have the rotors cryogenically treated
3.) Install Stoptech SS brake lines
4.) Install Akebono euro ceramic brake pads
5.) Replace the parking brake
6.) Complete fluid flush
7.) High temp brake fluid
I already have the SS brake lines and Akebono pads. The rotors are currently on their way to be cryogenically treated and the parking brake will be here in a couple days.
I should have everything I need in a week and I have set time aside on the 9th to do the project.
The next time I do my brakes I am going to look at upgrading but for the time being the stock system should do me fine.

You may also want to break out the GTech BEFORE you do the brakes and do three 60-0 passes (waiting a several minutes between passes - thin pads retain a lot of heat), and recording the distances. AFTER you do the brakes and bed in the pads, do the same. That may tell you something.

also, is 'Balo' a reputable brand? These "05' c230k sport" cross drilled & vented front rotors are only $89/ea
I guess these are the same ones that are @ autohaus..

You are more than welcome to join,
The 9th is not set in stone yet as I am still working out a time with my buddy that works for him, as soon as I nail down a date and time I will let you know.
Really I don't need him to help, it just makes things easier. If he can't commit to a time maybe you can help me instead

Once you see how easy it is you will wonder why people pay to have their brakes done. Only real issues I have ever ran into is seized bolts due to the heating and cooling from the brakes. If you have all of the right tools you can change out your front brakes in an hour or less.
I will keep you posted

I'm going totally cheap skate on my brakes.. ala outlaw style. Once you have your fancy brakes and I have my cheap ******* brakes.. we should totally benchmark our stop distances side by side. See how many feet you were able to shave off.

Learning how to do your brakes will save you hundreds just in labor never mind buying your own parts at a cheaper rate than a mechanic charges.

I'm at 97k miles so plugs are fast approaching..
