Finally got some new cross drilleds!

Well I finally got some new brakes, and they are amazing!
I got Zimmerman Cross Drilled rotors and Akebono ceramic pads!

Here are my original rotors (notice you can actually see the lip!! )

Here are the new ones on my car, sorry I didn't get a better picture

And the new pads

Also, as a side fix
Look at my old flex disk

how many miles on your car?
mine is about 60000 miles time to change flexdisc or not?

I've only got the fronts on right now and my old ones on the rear and it is a night and day difference!
I absolutely love them

I just hit 160,000 miles last week
I only did the front. the rear looked just fine except for a hairline crack, I will probably change that out next year, my mechanic did it for just $130 for me

I got a free mercedes multi point inspection in the mail and they let me know every little detail that is wrong with my car, and the flex disk was on there, so I am slowly doing each one of those.

If you can get under the car, you can easily see the two flex disks and if they need changing or not

did you put your old 334mm rotors on the rear axle, is it what you're saying?
if yes do they brake good with the wrong rear pads?

no problem!

But really, I absolutely love these things, I had never taken a second thought about brakes before, and then my mechanic found these for the same price has stock rotors, and I truly thank him.

more fun stuff to come soon...

Not trying to be negative but my friend got some Zimmerman rotors for his BMW and I helped him install them, IMHO I think they are a cheap brand. The alloy they were made out of just seemed cheesy to me but I hope they work out for you.

As far as the flex discs I changed mine out as soon as I bought my C43, it was literally the first thing I did. $90 per disc and 15 minutes to change them out, it was SIMPLE

maybe the previous owner put on some even cheaper rotors before i bought the car because these are better. I'm happy with them so far and happy with the price, I will post how I like them down the road.

I didn't know how serious the flex disk issue could be if they gave out
If I knew I would have done the same thing as you, change them when I got the car that is!!

Good thing you caught that flex disc when you did. The amount of damage caused when one lets go can be horrific

exactly! by the look of the cracks and chunks taken out, it looks like I didn't have long either.

True and what surprises me is that this kind of part is overlooked by technicians when you get your car serviced

when I got the multipoint inspection, the guy who did it did not even make it out to be a big deal, then when I took my car to the shop, my mechanic let me know how serious it was and I took care of it the next day!!
