Looked at buying a c43 today, it may be sold by the weekend, but had it inspected and needed a whole new driver side mirror assy as well as the aux. water pump replaced.
Any clue how hard either of those are to do?

Yes, aux water pump sends water to heater.
It's underneath the coolant tank. Pretty easy replacement, but you have to drain coolant unless you don't mind spilling half of it under the car.

That's the one, it's also responsible for circulating the coolant after the engine has been turned off. Would be a good time to have the coolant flushed anyways I guess. The shop wanted $700 for the job though, HA!
How about a workshop manual for the car? I've seen mention of WIS, how does one go about obtaining this, either freely or paying for it? I bought the factory manual for my MINI, so I'm not above paying for one for this car either, but cheaper/free is better as well.

I have never heard or seen a C43 workshop manual. Full WIS is impossible to obtain in Europe, but it seems that some members on this forum have copies available
I believe you can pay to have access (daily, weekly, etc. rates).

I have a copy of the WIS. You do not need to pay for it regularly as DRB suggested, it is a program that installs on your computer. Unfortunately the version i have is only updated to 2007 but it has everything needed for all cars 2007 and below (including our C43's
)
)Oh, well that's good to know, DRB and 503. Once I get mine...I'll let ya know!

David, whose screen name is krazzdav, sold me a 2012 version of the WIS. He's in Hawaii and ships worldwide. 2012 comes bundled with the EPC and will run under Windows 7. I've also got two early versions (2005 and 2007) and those will only run under XP. If you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, you can run the early versions in XP mode. The early versions don't include the EPC, you'll have to buy them separately. Originally Posted by DRBC43AMG

I recommend the 2012 version. PM krazzdav and he'll get you the DVDs. Here are the install instructions for both the 2012 and the early versions.

Brilliant, and thank you. I knew I love Pelican Parts for a reason =) Have my eye on a personally owned Silver '99 in the LA area right now.

Just a word of warning... I like the Pelicanparts DIY (great job PP), but if I recall the pump on our 43's is not attached as in the photos.

iirc, it's attached to the frame rail BELOW the overflow tank. Still an easy replacement, though.
Thanks guys, I'm passing on the car that needed that repair, they want too much for a car that's been on the auction circuit for too long, and that needs more repairs than they're willing to work on the price for.
