WEIRD Trans Problem, Never Seen This...

I turn the car on and take off to work.
In about 10-15 minutes of driving the dash light up with the bas/esp lights.
The second these lights come up the trans will not shift gears.
I stop at a light, I pull out and the car is super slow. And again it will stay in first gear. Reverse won't work either.

If I turn the car off and start it up again the dash lights will go out and the trans is back to normal again.
Than after 10-15 minutes of driving again, the lights return and the car is once again super slow and will stay in first gear.

There is a check engine light on, I will be getting the codes tomorrow.

Thanks for ANY advise you guys can give.

Conductor plate
Transmission ECU connector

Normal failure on these transmissions. I wonder how many cars have been scrapped due to this.

Watch all 6 of those videos.

It's probably not a transmission fault as a conductor plate fault wont bring a light on the dash.

Look for fault codes in the ESP/BAS system, most likely a simple issue.

Thanks guys for your responses.
We were going to check all these suggestions but something happened.

Took the car to a retired mechanic, he took apart the BRAND NEW key I bought from the dealer a week back. He used some kind of brush and brushed the electric board.

He stuck the key in than turn the car on and ALL the lights went out. Took the car to work and so far no esp......or check engine lights have come on. Car is running great.

Does this make any sense?

Sure, it could be, keyless inferred in some case, interrupted the E-code key switch,

that could ECU catch that signal and make some confusion to the other sensors & modules,,

it happened to my friends 1999 C280, last year, but can't assure if you have the same issue, or not....!!

ZAYED,,
