Headlight mod (with W211 Bi-Xenon)

Hi,

modified my head lights with inserting W211 Bi-Xenon modules (Hella device).
It was a little difficult to make them fit into the original reflector and adjust the modules in x/y direction and rotation to the additional high beam and fit into the housing. The cap did not fit any more because the module is longer, so I needed to find another solution. The clear front cover polycarbonate is from some after sales headlights. I needed to create adapters to get them in original position and make them fit on the housing sealing.

I think there should be an mbworld field trip to Germany to visit Popeye and his car (and the Mercedes and Porsche museums, and the Nurburgring and probably Oktoberfest too)

Looks nice! I wonder how it would look if you blacked out the inside art of the headlight...

I like the mod How do you get around the self leveling which normally is mandatory when using those type of lights, or are you using the original system?

Is is all factory standard. I 'just' replaced the low-beam reflector with the new module. Cutting a hole into the reflector and mounting a frame into the reflector. The frame must fit rather tight around the module, otherwise you won't be able to screw the reflector into its housing anymore. Before finally fixing the frame, it is necessary to adjust the rotation. Then I used 4 screws to link the module to the frame. With These screws I adjusted the module to the aditional high beam reflector, becaus later you can adjust the headlight from outside adjusting both reflector and modul together only, so it must be adjusted to each other.

Headlights are certified now and with the 3rd attempt I now have real optic free blinkers. Unfortunately they don't fit like the factory ones.
The parking light is integrated behind the lense (LED).

Great job as usual Do you need to get TüV approval of the lights? Here in Switzerland this would probably mean getting the stuff certified with a technical inspection and tons of paper approvals You should have seen what I had to go through for the KW suspension and SS flex hoses. Luckly the drilled rotors passed without any comments

I guess the CHF 5 billion was also a bit difficult to swallow. We will stick with our fleet of Tigers and FA18's, not unless the europeans come back with nice offers for the Rafale or Eurofighter. In any case the air-force only flies during office hours (I'm not joking)
