Im Loosing My Bearing

Smoke started coming out my rear passenger side after the wheel bearings started to squick.

I sprayed some seafoam lube in between the gap in the rotor and it silenced the noise. But in long drives the smoke starts. Brakes and rotor are good.

Is it better to replace the whole hub to avoid pressing out n in the bearings? Or what do you guys suggest. Anyone have the part numbers of the inner and outer bearings for passenger side?

I have done the front but I know the rest are a pain. My mechanic is quoted 3 hours and 385 just for labor.

I want to make sure I get the RIGHT parts. Thanks

I believe a whistle sound is right. It only smokes if I take of fast and sudden stop.... Do you know if there its an outer and inner bearing? My mechanic said there's only one?

If I buy the tool to remove bearing can this be a diy job? If yes where can I purchase the right tools? I will search but if anyone can jump in and help that be appreciated.

I know front bearings are easly job, but rear bearings have to be pressed in/out.

Yes, hub got one big bearing only, i prefer to remove the bearing and inspect the bearing area, it could be expanded,

*if you want bearing kit, part #: "202 980 00 16"

*if you need only bearing without hardwares, part #: "202 981 01 27"

I'm not sure if the rear is similar to the front, but I was experiencing some smoke on my front driver's wheel after my "friend" "hit railroad tracks" & cracked my Carlsson while I was out of town. I ended up inspecting it, but the bearing literally welded itself to the spindle. This was painful, as the whole knee needed to be replaced.

Thank you zayed!
I just checked the wheel and it has no play at all. When I roll the rotor it has a sound that's like rubbing thin metal. I'm going to try posting a recording I did of the sound to see what you think.

Clip not opening for me as well. Is it coming in contact with your rotor when you spin the wheel?

Can you see a download button after opening the link?
If yes download it and it should play...

The rotor seems like it is not touching anything.

Awesome! I'm glad it didn't sound like bearings to you. I will remove the dust cover and see what's there.

Will update...

The front are way easy to do than the back. The spindle must have been expensive.
