I realized my front pads will need to be done, so I plan to tackle that along with changing out my radiator(has small leak)

I already have the radiator, but I need to order pads. Going to pelican parts I see quite a few options. Im thinking maybe a slight upgrade in performance may be nice, but I dont want to sacrifice noise. Does anyone have experience around this.
My other question is what is the typical life of the rotors? I may need to do them as well(hopefully not)

I only go OEM, they're great brakes super powerful and great feel even by todays standards which says alot.

buy from fcp euro. lifetime guarantee. even on oil.

i bought the ceramic pads. akebono or something. they are great no more dust.

change out your brake lines too. some guys on here say stainless is great.

I have Porterfield R4s
They are carbon/kevlar compound street pads, I highly recommend them!
55000km's and 11 years later on these street pads, they still have plenty of meat left and will last very long.

They are also very low dust and rotor friendly which is mucho importante for rotor life!
Pads are expensive but worth the money

Kowalski, do you knows where your brake pedal is? You are like me, never slow down!!
My pads are on since 2012 and still have lots of meat left and with close to 70k km in the jaws.

Never heard that Bosch made brake pads. Guess they must spark a lot...

They do. Got some for my c280 and they barely fit into the calipers. They were a mm or two too wide so I had to file down the back plate on the sides.

If you're wanting to go with HAWK I would recommend their ceramic street pad as it'll have much lower dust and noise as any of their track/street pads (HPS and HP Plus). I have run all 3 of their pads (ceramic, HPS and HP Plus). Akebono is also good. Akebono pads are really great for low dust, noise and they last a good amount. I have come across people saying that Akebono's have more of a linear/smooth bite vs. how Genuine/OEM pads bite. Personally, I like this feeling more.

For rotors, I'd go with Zimmerman if you don't want to purchase Genuine. They're a good quality rotor. Check your rotors, there should be a minimum thickness on them. You'll want to check that to be sure they're in good shape. Personally, I always change my rotors when it's time for pads.

It's a toss up really as both pads are great and provide good stopping power vs. factory pads. HAWK is cheaper and is a very good performance street pad and the occasional track days. Akebono is what a lot of Porsche guys run for an improved feel over factory and they always seem very happy. Akebono is also very popular for BMW, MINI and other brands. They have a great reputation as far as a replacement pad across multiple different vehicle makes. When I did pad upgrades on my vehicle I complimented it with upgraded fluid and SS brake lines to get the ultimate braking power from my set up. All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with either pad and you can always test out the other brand you don't go with this time the next time you're due for pads.

Looks like last time rotors were replaced was at 71k miles in 2010 by previous owner, car has about 122k miles. Should I definitely be replacing them? I also feel a slight lip at the top of the rotor.
