Sunroof shade repair and a parts question
Hello all, new to the forum. I'm a BMW guy (don't worry wife has a glk 350) but helping a friend fix his 99 AMG C43.
As we work on the car I'm sure I will have more questions but first. Is there a place with a parts diagram for this car? Like realoem.com for bmw?
First fix is to reupholster the sunshade. Can anyone tell me how to get these vents out? The plastic is brittle and I'm afraid they will break if I pull on them. Maybe warm them up first?
Second, here's the car. Notice the Jack hole cover is missing. Yes I said jack hole. Is there a place to buy this aftermarket or used? I tried autohausaz.com and pelican and car-part.com but they are all $70 and no AMGs on car-part.

Expect the plastic louvers to break when you remove them. I paid around $90 for two louvers, the upper and lower part of the handle, and a new ornamental plastic cover that mounts on the front of the sunroof; that's the part you have to pry off so you can retract the sunroof and pull the sunshade forward.
When you order replacements, you will need to add the color code to the part number. For example, adding 7D05 to the end of the part number will get you that part in light gray.
Here's a link to a site with parts diagrams I found using the part number for my W210.

Yes there is a place for parts diagrams and part ID numbers. It's the official Mercedes EPC programme. It's unfortunately not free but the yearly subscription is reasonable, around 25Euros if I recall.
Looking at the photo, the missing cover is the rear passenger side one. The correct part # is A202 698 50 30. Beware as each cover has a separate ID#. It is available from the dealer but not very cheap. I know because I just ordered and paid for one. It was around Swiss franc 36.00 which is around the same in $ as both currencies are close to parity. Needs to be painted though.

Thanks guys for the help. I'll see if he wants to risk breaking the vents and buying new ones or just spraying some adhesive in there to get the material to stay up.
Nice catch, the production date was April of 1999 so I guess technically that is a MY2000 right? I found a site that verified your number:
TOTAL PRODUCTION
1998 - 579 units
1999 - 546 units
2000 - 22 or maybe 25 units
Year 2000 - number of units & colors(1) Burgundy
(4) Obsidian Black
(6) White
(7) Black
(7) Silver Year 2000 - interiors(1) equipped with blue/black two-tone leather (silver car)
(10) equipped with black leather
(14) equipped with silver/black two-tone leather

2000 or 1999?
He left the car with me to fix. Here's a pic with my baby.
Funny thing is I called him last night to drop the bomb that his car could be 1 of 25 based on the wheels. He said oh that would explain the extra set of AMG wheels I got with the car... So it could be a 1999. HEre's the center console & VIN

Thats not a 2000 unfortunately.
The 2000 model comes with a tiptronic, it has the +\- snifter, not the 1, 2 ,3 ,4 gate
Also the cluster on the 2000 will have a little section that shows you what gear you are in
Either way its nice. I think the 99 had some updates that the 98 didnt have.

Heres an example.
This person clearly upgraded their wheels but pay attention to the shifter and also next to the time on the cluster, theres a little screen that shows selected gear.

Oh and the 2000 has a roof antenna
