Vacuum Pump?

So, whenever I start my C36 there is an intermittent buzzing noise coming from the trunk. Is this a vacuum pump of some kind? It buzzes for 2 to 3 seconds at a time but for up to five minutes. That doesn’t seem right to me. I am a new C36 owner and have not experienced this problem in any of my other vehicles. Would someone be so kind as to enlighten me as to whether or not this problem is something that needs to be repaired or replaced, or is it normal? Thank you!

Take the carpeting out in the passanger side of the trunk. Its held in by four clips....very easy. If you have a cd changer you will have to take it out but thats easy.

The pump is in there.

Listen to it when the car starts. If you have a vacuum leak the pump will go on and off randomly.

Thank you very much for the advice and the picture. Would you happen to know where the most common spots are for vacuum leaks?

Try looking inside (back) of your front seats, specially if the lumbar and side bladders don't work. Need to unscrew two small x headed screws on the lower edge of the back covering. Remove the cover and you'll have access to the vacuum pipes. You will probably find one disconnected. Just pop the end back in and use a small zip tie to hold it in place. It should not move again.
Do all the door locks open and close normally? Trunk lid also?

He's got a C36, I could be wrong but near certain these don't have any vacuum adjustibility of the seats, that is a C43 feature.

Door lock actuator is a common spot, I need to replace mine on the driver's door due to a small leak. Bit of a soft hiss when unlocking the doors to get in...

Victoria, BC. Let me know if you're ever in my neck of the woods with your C36, we can compare notes.
